Permanently disable cross traffic alert?

Is there a way to turn the cross traffic alert off and keep it off? This is probably the most annoying thing I’ve ever experienced and every time I turn it off, it turns itself back on next time I start the car. 2016 GT P

I'd guess forscan could do it but in a world of large suvs this is such a wonderful feature to have in a typical parking lot.
