noticed in my 17 gt that when the cta alerts it is extremely loud. Is there a way to lower the alert volume besides disabling it in the menu?

I find there feature useful just don’t need it blaring at me when it goes off.

Agreed. I want to keep it on but maybe lower the volume by half.

Have you tried lowering the volume control while the alarm is sounding, as you would with the voice prompt system?

How often dies it go off? Honestly it should go off infrequently enough, that it shouldn't be an issue.

At my age, I want that alert to be as loud as possible! It has already saved me more than once in parking lots.

Too loud just once would still be too loud. Obviously, though, what constitutes "too loud" is going to vary among individuals. Perhaps widely.

A different solution would be to back into the parking spot - you've got a rear backup camera system to help you do that more accurately, might as well get some use out of it even if that's only to help judge where to stop.

FWIW, any cyclist who's speeding along close to a row of parked vehicles owns part of anything that happens. Maybe a big part. Having commuted by bicycle for years at a time, that's getting up there on the risk scale with playing Russian Roulette.

And for Smokey - I get that there's a minimum loudness (that's perhaps even more highly variable among individuals). I'll just mention that one of my hearing aids is currently out for repair and leave it at that.

is the sound coming from stereo? , forscan has a option to play tines/sounds through IPC(instrument panel) speaker instead of stereo speaker which I read reducers the volume of the sounds.

Last night that alarm saved a dumbass on a bike. I was backing out of a parking space and it goes off. I don't see a car, but a few seconds later the idiot goes whizzing behind me. Dark, raining, and wearing dark clothes. There's no way I could have seen him, but it would somehow have been my fault. I fucking hate cyclists, but I'm fine with that alarm.
its brilliant, great for carparks, and reversing out, its a clever bit of kit

I wish it was quieter as well. Its unbearable to back seat passengers. I'll have to turn the audible warning off soon here when my baby girl is born.
