Weird stuff. I have been mucking around over the past while with the shift tables in Normal and Sport. I got it pretty good but I wanted to delay the upshift into 10th and down shift to 9th a little more. So I started playing around with the 9-10 shift area. And then I thought, why not just do it in Sport and copy the entire table into Normal. And then I thought again, well if you are doing that you should probably do the same for the coast down and downshift tables. Essentially normal behaves like sport with regards to the shift schedule. Not quite.
It seems something goofy happens when you copy the coast down from Sport to Normal. You have to come to a complete stop or what I believe happens is stays in either 2nd until you stop and then drops to first. If you dont stop completely there is a split second where it seems to be both in 1st and 2nd before it drops to 1st with a slight clunk. Switching to sport mode, this doesnt happen despite having the same tables as Normal.
I went back and set the normal coast down to OEM. Problem goes away and it all works fine. I wonder whats different about Normal that causes problems if you use Sport mode coastdown.
