Page 136 of the manual does not seem to define that when you are in Sport Mode, when does it stay in a gear you select and when does it shift for you, albeit at s higher rpm than Drive mode. I notice in Sport it also downshifts automatically (and more aggressively than Drive).

I just have not figured out exactly what the criteria is for me to tell it to not shift for me. Or at least know what I do or what amount of time passes for the computer to take over.

Once I let the computer shift for me in Sport mode, that was pretty cool. But I never really know if I am in contol or the computer (until I obviously pass an rpm it would have shifted at).

If the shifter is in "S" once you use the paddle you own all the shifting from that point on. Just using the toggle switch to put it in Sport+ lets the computer do the shifting with the more sensitive throttle response. If you use the paddles while in "D" it will stay in your control for about 5 seconds before it the computer jumps back in.

Probably goes without saying, but the computer will also take control to prevent excessive redline.

I fixed that for you.

The car will always automatically downshift to keep you from lugging, but will never automatically upshift once you have used one of the paddles while in Sport mode.

It will happily let you bounce off of the rev limiter all day, until you either flick that right paddle or bump it back into "D".

I don't have a toggle switches. I think the V6 is like the base GT or EB that just can select 'Sport' mode via the shift lever.

After putting shifter into 'S', I have started hitting the ' - ' paddle to make it blink 1st gear. I did notice that 'seemed' to keep shifting in my control. From what you all are saying it 'does' do that until I shift back to 'D'. I'll play with that to confirm (try to notice if it ever) goes back to auto Sport shifting after I 'make a minus or plus shift while in 'Sport' mode.

Thanks.

It shouldn't. If going from D to S it just changes the shift pattern and holds gears longer. Once you are in S and grab a paddle, it switches to manual control and stays that way. To return it to automated shifting you have to return it to D. (If you're in D and grab a paddle, it will eventually revert back to automated shifting.)
