Big Worm wants to post photos of my standard Shelby style stripes. I have been mulling over how much it would bother me to know there may be other cars with "my" look. Yeah, I know, that makes me
Honestly, I don't think anyone will be copying "your" look. Just my opinion.

So has anyone else had someone in you same town/area literally do all the same modifications as your car? Within the past week I've seen a guy show up with an Oxford white s550 with the same stripe kit that I have, and he just put roush heat extractors on it... It's kind of annoying
and though it might not have been in the same area their are probably 20 other Oxford white S550's with the same setup. Your driving a Mustang. You are not unique lol.

I know. Just encourages me to mod it. Not a lot of people have done that yet.
Quite the opposite. People did so much unbelievable crap to them that if you're stay stock, you're going to be unique. ;-)

Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think there will be many copy cats of your color scheme.

Btw, have you thought about adding some black pinstripes to the design? From a distance, I'd imagine the colors will blend in together, and I'd imagine for some of the color blind, it's a hard design to see.
LOL, no, I get it, and I won't take it the wrong way. Each owner gets the car that pushes his/her buttons, and then mods it to personalize it further.

But I agree with the OP, it would bother me more if I thought my car looked unique and then spotted the same scheme in my town. That is to say, it would bother me more to actually see another car than to simply wonder about "copy cats in parallel universes".

I think the solid bright-color cars need some graphics, while graphics sometimes hurt the subdued colors.

As for the pinstripes, I did consider them, but some Shelby stripes schemes have them and some don't. I like the simple two-tone look, and so I concluded the pinstripes had nothing to add. For those that like the color purple, I'd like to see the yellow car with purple Shelby stripes. (Even that is too much for me, but hey...)

That sucks. As another guy said previously, most verts around my area are stock as well. Haven't even seen a s550 GT convertible or even a magnetic metallic in my area yet.

where did you get the satin decklid? also, it looks like there is a huge gap next to it and your passenger taillight. can you confirm or deny the listed accusation? haha.
remember, imitation is the best form of flattery.
I bought a blank decklid (no GT emblem - available from any of the major sponsors) and did it myself. Now, I went the actual sand, prime, paint/matte clear route, but in all honesty, it's prolly just easier to have it vinyl wrapped.

I think it might be the angle you're seeing it on. Here's a more dead on pic:

I had the Ford Racing logo done at a local vinyl shop. I wasn't sure how it was all going to come together, but I'm very pleased with the final result. Its different from the regular old blacked out GT emblem and it's MUCH easier to clean - anyone trying to clean around the intricate G and T knows what I'm talking about!

Since you have one, and I've been curious about them - how do you like the light bar? I've always dug on the look, but I wasn't sure if it made using the backseats a PITA?

Great looking ride.
Thanks, man.

I love the light bar. I find it seems to balance out the look of the car, front to rear. I can't tell you about the back seat access because honestly, they never get used. Install isn't necessarily complicated (this is the second one I've done - the other was on a 2012 GT vert), but it takes some time and you want to be careful cutting the holes in the trim panels! If you're not really wanting to do this mod yourself, make sure you have someone do the work that's done it before. You don't want someone practicing this install on your car.

Thanks for this input. I've been contemplating on getting one as well, but didn't really like the way it made the vert look. I like how it looks on yours though.

I suggested this in another thread and was chastised for recommending to first bondo the empty holes. :paddle:

I would like matte black (or dark gray) diffuser and deck panel on my car. But I am fine with the stock scheme for now.

And yeah, nice looking vert. A head-turner for sure.

What I've found with Mustang verts is you have this big long front end (especially with the 2015's) and a really short trunk-deck.

I find the light bar gives a bit more balance as the eye moves to the rear of the car.

Thanks!

The blank panel has no holes at all so it's a little less complicated to do, but yes I suppose you could try to fill the holes in a stock piece.

Yeah, you are right on. I also like that it looks pretty OEM, I mean, I'm not sure about the attachment points and how the trim has to be modified, but if I had never seen a convertible Stang, I'd just assume that was stock.

sorry I havent replied back yet, work was hell today! And as regards to me copying him, the answer would be nope due to me having the s550 in my area. i should be putting on the gt350r spoiler here in a couple weeks when it arrives so hopefully that will make mine and his car stand apart... give it im sure ive done more stuff to mine in terms of performance stuff but from a look you cant tell the difference. my dad even called me to ask why i had parked at walmart and it was the other guys car not mine...
