Ha, yeah I have the same squeak. Figured it was a fan slowing down to a stop but I hadn't spent the time investigating it. Thanks for doing the research for me lol. I notice it probably 95% of the time when I shut the car off. Little weird and annoying but I don't plan on making a trip to the dealer unless I have a failure or something.

its the fan bearing. apparently a bunch of people have this issue including myself. def thought i f'd something up with one of my installs. seems to be pretty common and harmless. just the passenger side fan bearing. supposedly ford knows about it but hasnt come up with permanent solution. bunch of guys have had them replaced under warranty only for replacements to go bad in 6 months. just some crappy fan bearings.

Yeah I found another post from a year and a half ago with a Ford rep on there too. Someone isolated it to the passenger side bearing. A couple had it replaced, but it came back some time later. Sounds like Ford hasn't created a fixed item yet and a new one will just end up doing it again. But I would think until they start seeing actual failures or problems arise from it, they won't change design. It's not worth it financially unless it starts costing them money.

Yes, me too. It has been intermittent, noticed it more in warm weather with AC on.

It has nothing to do with a fan bearing. The noise is caused by the brushes rubbing against the commutator within the electric motor as the fan slows down; it's not detrimental to performance or longevity whatsoever. My Edge had the noise, it was intermittent and decreased as the brushes wore in. Its not anything to waste time worrying about.

Ya. I have a slight squeak too. Can definetly tell now with the Lund tune since he has it running harder. Wasn't too worried about it though.

Had the fan replaced twice now, LOL. I'm waiting to hear a new part number for the fan anytime now...seems to be fairly common (enough for Ford to comp to the bearing issue). I had my second fan put in last month. No noise yet, but as others have stated it will most likely return in time.

LOL. Clicked on this thread to give my two cents, then realized that YouTube link is my video! I'm famous! :D

So yeah, there's another thread about this issue:

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16851

Long story short, this is a common issue, with not just Mustangs but other Fords (thanks to crappy suppliers). Dealer replaced my cooling fan motor but warned me it'll likely come back as it is a known issue that Ford apparently doesn't seem interested in fixing. I'll keep getting it replaced under warranty if I need to then get an aftermarket one after that. Get what you pay for with Ford...the price we pay for affordable performance cars, I suppose. Sigh...

i get it once and awhile also .. mainly when the ac is on or i park it after taking it for a nice run through . its only when i park it ..now im getting a squeak from the drivers front wheel . like when the car is rolling . i jacked up that side and spun the wheel and you can deff tell its from that wheel.its not a constant squeak.. its like squeak......squeak as the wheel rotates.
ive cleaned everything .. blew it out with air at work. it stopped for like a day then came back . and i have 4600 miles on the car. not gunna take it to the dealer for that and have them tear my car apart.. ill just have to investigate more

Have you guys brought this up to your Ford Dealers yet? If not, I recommend you bring it in and get it diagnosed first. With the diagnosis, your dealer can look up any TSBs, recalls, or customer satisfaction programs that may apply to your vehicle.

Also, please PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number. I’ll loop in the customer service manager for your area. You can schedule an appointment online here.

Thanks, Deysha! I haven't heard the squeak since the weather has cooled, however I will mention it when I go in for routine maintenance later this month, so it is on record in case it returns in the summer.
