I have true cooled seats (not just vented) in my XKR and both the bottoms and backs are cooled and heated. The stang's seat backs may be tuned for less cooling than the bottoms but I hope that's not the case. We really need confirmation on this from a current owner in a southern state. BTW, I can get the seats super chilly with the ac set to bilevel as it feeds cold air right into the peltier units.
Thx

I agree it has been confirmed by other owners. For those of you who sit in a car in the future and easy way to confirm this if you can't feel the back portion would be to turn on the heated seat first, let it get warm, then flip it to cold. Hopefully that should give you the difference.

Anyone know what they're using to actually provide a real coolness to it? I know people assumed before it was just a ventilating fan, seems that's not the case now.
Should be Peltier units... They are thermoelectric cooling and heating units, they are very cool (no pun intended) and very effective.

Guys, its both tops and bottoms.

I just went out and checked again. You can even hear the air blowing in the top of the seats through the holes.

I ran a few temp checks. Nothing majorly scientific, but it is cooling both surfaces on my car.

Its pretty mild here, but it did drop the temp quit a bit.

Pics in order:

  1. Seat bottom before
  2. Seat back before
  3. Seat setting
  4. Seat bottom after
  5. Seat back after

Nice work Zombie!

I can feel it much more on the seat bottoms in my car, but it is working on the seat backs too, just doesn't feel as strong.

Thanks.

No problem, I was working on something on the '15 anyway, so it was not a big deal to test this.

If I put as much pressure on the backs as I do on the bottoms, it feels closer in temp (to me).

They must have a tube disconnected or pinched on the GT in Omaha...Maybe the next guys who test that car can see if it is working or not...When I sat in the car (engine running) while he showed me how to operate everything apx. 10-15 minutes the back was not working, then on test drive the seat was too cold, back hot, we both got out upon return and checked the seat backs...I have read before that both sections are supposed to work and did see the Edmonds review where the yoyo said the backs don't cool as well...May be a problem going on with it AKA something simple as a connection-->:shrug:

Thanks Zombie for re-confirming-->:thumbsup:

BTW...IT NEEDS AN EXHAUST UPGRADE-->TOO QUIET-->:tsk:

I would have sworn my seatbacks were not cooled while my seat bottom was. I will confirm in the morning I have my doubts now.

How cool it feels to the back versus the bottom is going to be subjective and may not work as well as the bottom. Look for the holes and listen to the air flow, that's the first time I noticed the sound last night. It's trying to cool at least. :)

I'm driving back to Omaha today...I'll take an instant read thermometer with me + I wanna see how that hood is lined up & I need another shot of adrenalin (Gssss on the body)-->:D

I'm starting to think the mustang's cooled seats are more gimmicky & was not thoroughly tested, if they are supposed to cool it should be within a few minutes at most. The weather was in the mid-upper 70's yesterday not 90s, they failed to cool this guys back, fingers crossed they have a simple fix for it.

Mine worked fine, the last time I saw 80 degree weather. :)
