Hey guys, I’m just finishing up installing my new built engine and need to refill the coolant among a couple little things before I do a test fire. What is the best way to refill this system and burp it?

Nothing special. Fill it up, let it run, let it cool down, top up and repeat. After a couple of rounds the level should not drop any longer and all air should be out of the system.

Yes, exactly, if you have a more or less stock cooling system or similar.

Yes the cooling system is stock except it also runs through the turbos and Moroso reservoir.

Very nice  I would suggest the same procedure.

Where did you relocate the battery junction box to?

Yep, just fill from the reservoir. You should be able to find online how many gallons it takes and have an extra bottle since you have extra stuff that the coolant runs through.

Perfect thanks. The battery is in stock location. The pcm and fuse box are under the passenger headlight.

Just added 3 gallons. Now should I throw the cap on and when I do the test fire bring it up to operating temperature then let it cool down and add more? Or leave the cap off when I start it and add while it’s running?

Make sure when its up to temp to blast the heat. You will notice after some time the coolant will drop, this is because the heater core is acutaly the highest point of the system and it takes time to bleed that air out.

Ok did all that and its used a total of 3.5 gallons. Not dropping anymore. That sounds about right for volume right?

button it up. take it for a rip. what the coolant and cylinder heads temps, get it home and take a look at the reservoir tank. If it's in between min-max your good buddy.
