my 2018 GT convertible manual with PP, delux or whatever premium interior name, active exhaust, digital dash..etc... was 60,988 new.
Love the people always posting how you used to be able to get a GT for under 30k a little while ago.

I don't think those people realize how old they have gotten.

Nobody gen Z or under is ever saying that about a Mustang GT. Only millennials to boomers have that experience lol.

New car prices are fake, covid taught the manufacturers that people will pay basically anything for a car. Toyota artificially throttles their supply to keep prices up, wouldnt be surprised to learn they're all doing it.

It sucks because its not like people are getting paid more, its just that some things that used to be available to the average person are not any more. Eventually it will even out, I just hope we still have these fun cars by then.

If you ask me, Ford had a golden opportunity to capitalize on the fact that Camaro and Challenger pulled out of the market. With the Mustang and Corvette being the only American V8 sportscars left standing, due to the EV push, how could they not take advantage of the situation. Instead they refresh the S550 into the S650 and add tech screens that look like an after thought glued to the dash. I know some like the redo and some don't. But the point is, had they did a little less of a redo, but with a tunable Gen 4 out the door, and kept the pricing closer to the S550, then I think without any competition, they would have sold far more then they are presently. Ford got greedy, and yes maybe they're trying to recoup EV production losses, look at the F150 Lighting for instance. Or they wanted to appeal to the Gen Z'er. Who knows. But what's better, selling twice as many cars, or charging twice as much per car. Somewhere a bean counter figured that out.

With a bit more budget this is the Vert to get imo . Whole different ballgame to a Mustang in this spec but you can get a lower spec one for around the price of a Mustang .

Defiantly don't want the bottom spec of and Luxury brand just looks like can't afford the ones everybody wants. Far better to have a top spec Mustang.

At double the price of a similar spec Mustang BMW is not good value especially considering it's not really a German car in content any more.

Gen Z'er are in their 20's.

I am a Gen X and no body I knew in my 20's was buying a brand-new GT convertible either. Mostly entry level mustangs if you bought new back then as well. I remember when the terminators came out and no one I knew could afford them at a young age either.

Like mentioned before, this car is priced for someone with income already and not a brand new Mustang buyer.

On a side note, you could literally buy a used 2020-2022 GT 500 for about 10K more than this car and have a whole lot more car for the money.

You're not wrong but it wouldn't be a convertible. Totally different applications. When I bought mine I wanted a convertible not a semi race car. I didn't even care if it had a V8. We were planning our retirement and had a self imposed budget. I found a 1 year old Ecoboost Premium convertible with CPO warranty for almost exactly half of the new window sticker. It has fit my needs perfectly.
Sadly, I don't see those kinds of discounts happening much anymore.

I understand all that, but I live in Texas. A convertible here means you will literally cook while waiting in traffic. lol

Yeah, as somebody who has more miles on sport bikes than driving cars... I don't understand people like you.

I bought my convertible 3rd gen Camaro when I was living in Dallas. It didn't even have air conditioning and was never a problem.

Now I'm in the Southeast on the coast and it doesn't matter if it's 100°, the car has air conditioning. That's so much better than sitting on top of a hot sport bike or my old convertible.

What you intended to say is " I couldn't possibly live if I wasn't in absolutely the perfect temperature at all times" and then dramatically collapse on the nearest fainting couch.

This went off the rails here.

What I intended to imply is, it's way too much UV/Sunlight shining on me while sitting in a car in long rush hour traffic here. Nothing to do with the heat, I can handle the heat or I would of moved out of Texas. What I do not like is sunburn and skin cancer.
