Sorry for your trouble with Breeze! I'm trying to achieve the same goal as you. I was told the same by Ford only to find out theirs doesn't fit based on multiple calls to installers.

Is this Borla link part number the same system as Ford's without the FR stamp and price tag? Please let us convertible owners know if it truly is a straight fit without modification. I hope your made whole on your money.
Thanks for the support. The link was just an example to show that Borla is specifically saying exhausts are now designated specifically to work with GT and GT convertibles, which means they probably have the tooling and mid pipes to make the FRPP cat back touring exahaust work with a convertible, it's not meant as it being the Borla equivalent for the FRPP touring cat back exhaust.

Borla has a touring exhaust http://www.borla.com/products/mustang_gt_catback_exhaust_touring_part__140589.html but this one doesn't have an x-pipe

This is type S, x-pipe, but not a touring http://www.borla.com/products/mustang_gt_catback_exhaust_stype_part__140590.html

The Atak has x-pipe and probably loud otherwise it'd be a touring http://www.borla.com/products/mustang_gt_catback_exhaust_atak_part__140591.html

I spoke to Borla today, they said that the S-type and FRPP cat back systems built after 3/20/15 will fit a 2015 Convertble. They confirmed they made changes after that date to ensure they would fit without modification.

Do you recall the build date of your kit that wouldn't fit? I was going to ask around to see if anyone has a kit built after 3/20/15. Borla said this date is stamped on the outside of the box.

Have the sent new kit to you yet?

Get drone on convertible that is not on a coupe??

Curious if anyone that has installed mufflers or Axle-backs and gotten drone when you hear that coupes with the exact same set up has no drone. THis may not be the case on V8's, but I got huge drone on my V6 when I put universal Magnaflow 11365 mufflers on. From the other V6's I read about there were no reports of drone with these, so I got them. I was very surprised at the nice deep sound. Then quickly realized that was 135ish Hz Frequency drone.( Muffler shop can olny guess for some reason maybe the convertible causes the drone to the same mufflers. Whacky, and makes no sense (to me).

So has anyone noticed any differing sound convertible to coupe with exactly the same system. Is there any mystery 'convertible exhaust syndrome'???

It was ordered on 3/16 so it's the old style, need to check if it came in, they were shipping to my Ford service guy

Borla said they'd take care of me, got two contacts to follow up with.
New exhaust pipes may or may not have arrived yet, had them shipped to Ford Service and my service guy was away from his desk.

So far so good!

Does anyone know if the fit issues have been resolved? Also, will the x-pipe work with convertible? Looking at the pictures in this thread of the underside of the car there is only one inlet pipe on the front side of the resonator on the convertibles. Any advise will be appreciated

The Borla fitment for convertibles have been resolved. Any catback made after 3/20 have been fixed.

I didn't have much luck with the new pipes from Borla

Borla shipped the new mid pipes to my service guy. Showed up Saturday to have it put on. At this point I didn't do a side by side comparison of the old midpipes to the new one yet as all the parts were at the service dept.

I asked to see them before putting them on. The new pipe and the old one are IDENTICAL in length and bending. The only difference is where they welded the hanger for them.

This set off an alarm bell, do I roll with it? On one hand they moved the hanger so they must know what they're doing. On the other the pipes have the same bend to them.

I went with it. The pipes did clear the undercover brace, that's the good news. The bad news is they're now touching the sway bar

The Ford service tech said this is bad was able to lower the pipes a bit so it wouldn't hit the sway bar. This meant leaving off the bracing.

I left the pipes on and the bracing off. I know it's probably bad not to have the bracing off, but it'll be temporary.

Going to another mechanic next month to see if he can tweak the pipes so it fits along with the bracing, if not
I have two other options:

1. cut the midpipes from the stock exhaust. This is probably the best choice, guaranteed to fit

2. go with an aftermarket brace for the rear subframe, Steed makes one, but don't know if it'll fit the convertible, they say it doesn't, but that's presumably with the factory bracing on.

I'll end up going with option 1.

The good news is the exhaust sounds awsesome.

My advice is to NOT buy the FRPP cat back exhaust for the convertible. I would be suspect of Borla's cat back systems fitting on the convertible as well, but for sure the FRPP has fitting issues even with the redesign

I was going to ask if the exhaust sounds different at all w/o the big rear under body convertible brace... But then you never left the shop with new pipes and the brace in place right?

On My V6, of four people, mne being the only convertible, I am the only one that got drone (and pretty strong) when adding just the Magnaflow 11365 mufflers. Just grasping at straws on the off chance that brace 'somehow' affected MY exhaust's sound. Curious of how running no rear undebody brace is as I am considering removing mine... just to see if for some unknown reason, it takes away my drone.

That was the ecoboost underside with one pipe into the resonator. GT's have 2.

I have the Borla exhaust on and no brace. The exhaust does sound awesome. The brace concerns me. I'm leaning towards just using the middle pipes made from cutting up my stock exhaust

How I ended up getting screwed is beyond me. Read the description of the exhaust on Ford Racing carefully. I took the steps of asking here on the forum if they'd fit. Borla acknowledged the original pipes don't fit and sent redesigned ones which really all that redesigned, just moved the mounting hook.

Here's the aftermarket rear subframe brace I mentioned

I'm not going to be the first to try this on a convertible

any updates on the convertible exhaust?
If the question is for me, still running the exhaust with no brace for now. I have some vacation days end of May coming up and my plans are:

a) have another mechanic see if he can fit the Borla exhaust so the brace fits and if that fails then...

b) go to a exhaust shop and have them cut out the middle pipe pieces from my stock exhaust and hook them up to the Borla x pipe and mufflers then either shitcan or sell the Borla mid pipes

Borla did follow through and covered my expenses for the first install attempt and shipped the revised middle pipes free of charge ASAP, that speaks volumes to their customer service.

I have the Roush Axel Back on mine but would like to replace with Magnaflow cat back. Until I see someone else has successfully installed a full cat back I will stick with the Roush. I may just get a resonator delete x-pipe. I just hear that is extremely loud with the Roush axel back.
