Convenience package returning?

Is there a way to find out if the convenience seats are going to return? I do not fit whatsoever in the Recaros, and finding one optioned exactly how I want is not happening now. Tried Cargurus, Ford, autotrader, etc. Still not seeing it as an option on Ford's website. I remember a rumor going around a while back that the manufacturer of the seat couldn't keep up with demand or something like that, which is why they stopped offering it.

You can't just put the mustang GT seats in like Leno did with his 350R? Heck I'm sure there'd be a line out your door of GT owners with their seats in hand wanting to swap for the GT350 seats.

I don't like the word "fat". I'm 6'2" 285 lbs and the Recaro's were TORTURE.

Don't know about the '17s, but if this pic of a '18 Orange Fury is any indication, the leather comfort seat option could be back next year.

I ran across the same problem with the recaro's when purchasing mine in April ...... no way on a 2 hour drive .......... it was the convenience package or nothing for me. Sneed's Ford in Waynesboro had a white one and Koons in Falls Church had 4 on the lot, all with the convenience package .......... ;-)

I'm going to guess they will be back. I read some where that so many dealerships had ordered the convenience pkg. that who ever makes the seats could no longer furnish the material so they had to offer electronic pkg. only. Wouldn't be without my leather heated/cooled power seats on my 2017.

don't like seats or door panels.

I'm fat and tall even the sofa set are bad fit, unless I lean seat back there is no head room. looking out top edge windshield. I ordered a procar 65 mustang seat and put it on race seat plate. now I go lots of headroom and nice flat seat. Also changing the inner door panels to look like the 65 cobra. Have figure what to do with center console might cover in leather too match the seat and door panel. Ordered some nice Italian distressed burgundy leather hides.

I'm 6'4" 230 and the Recaros don't fit me comfortably. In fact the convenience seats are too narrow and a little uncomfortable as well. The 2011-2014 seats are pretty good though.

Fat bellies don't interfere with seats. But then you knew that. You are just trying to start fires as usual.

The Recaros are fine for track days - with the addition of a harness. Not great for daily driving. At least not for someone my size.

People are different shapes. I'm not talking about bellies. I have a narrow waist relatively. Saying they won't fit bit people may miss inform some people.

I don't DD my car. I have done 6+ drives in my car with no issue YMMV

I agree with what you are saying. My waist is also 38 inches, but I think I'm wider than you. My car has over 16,000 miles on it, so comfort matters to me. I know what the Recaros are like from the Track Attack event. They were fine for that, but I wouldn't want to use them exclusively. Width aside, it's nice having heating/cooling/lumbar. Also, the look of the convenience/tech seat is really nice.
