Let's say you've been running a Flex tune. And only filling up with E85.

Do you reset the KAM everytime you fill up, since the Ethanol content varries? (In my area the content ranges from 60-80)

No! The factory ff logic restarts the learning process when it senses a fuel refill.

Sweet! This is what I thought. But a few things let doubt creep in. I needed confirmation 😂👌

If you are wanting to blend the fuels together and don't have the time or care to drive to 0 miles until empty before swapping tunes, or just don't want to swap tunes whatsoever. Then run the flex tune. I run a 93 or an e85 tune. When I want to swap fuels, I drive it to 0 miles till empty or something close to it and re fill the tank fully and swap over. After 20 miles or so should be good to go. If you don't want to worry about any of that and want to get gas where you want when you want and what fuel you feel like putting in at the time, then run the flex.

I recently returned my car to stock and it wrote about 90 blocks. I then reinstalled the flex tune and it only wrote 11 blocks. I tried using the tuner to have it display whether the car was stock or tuned, but there is no option. So I contacted Livernois and they said if it only wrote 11 blocks it “sounds“ like it’s tuned. that makes me pretty uncomfortable. Wonder if that is a general issue that all tuners have, or just bad on Livernois?

So the air/fuel ratio on the stock tune and 93 octane is around 14.0. With the flex tune but running 93 gas, A/F is around 13.4. Took it down to around 13 miles to empty and filled with flex, and after 10 minutes the A/F had dropped to around 10.8 So it seems pretty clear that it's tuned. Just seems like the tuner should say "flex tune installed" or "stock tune installed".
