Now that I watched the video that IS NOT compressor surge...that is the BOV fluttering, probably due to a weak vacuum pressure source. Where did you tee the reference air for the TiAL? Should be off your fuel pressure sensor hose downstream of the solenoid.

You'll know compressor surge when it happens because your turbo sounds like its "Chuffing" or imagine a scuba regulator and the sound it makes when breathing out.
So in the first video i posted, The part where i stall up the car isnt compressor surge??

Your second video is not compressor surge, the first video is indeed surge.

In the first video, about halfway through when you are stalling it up and letting off. That is compressor surge 100%. You can hear the air deflecting off the compressor wheel.

So Adam, I'm trying my hardest not to let this thing surge. Its so hard because just barely getting on the throttle and letting off suddenly it'll do it. :/

Yup, that is why I recommend the BOV's I did on the previous page.

We have the same piping on our car, using a TS Race port BOV. We had noticeable surge at all light throttle, and lifting scenarios when first installed. I simply went down to a lighter spring, and the issue was gone instantly. If you are running a Tial Q, use the black spring, it will have the BOV open at idle, but that is fine, the throttle blade is closed, and the charge pipe is not under vacuum. The second you touch the throttle the BOV will close.

Black spring can be found here. http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchan...tp&Product_Code=TIL-BOV-006&Category_Code=BOV

So on the 1st video at the 3rd time he gives it throttle, I have a similar sounding fluttering but at low throttle and the fluttering frequency is faster. I don't hear the air deflection when mine flutters. Was this something I should be concerned about? I don't want to ignore it and have problems down the road. i am on stock piping using a TurboSmart Kompact BOV. It was the only OEM replacement out there at the time. I have it 1 full turn from soft using an Adam tune.

You do not need a new BOV unless you enjoy spending money. The Tial will surge on just about any car with the spring they normally include. Also what size line do you have connected to it. Tial suggests nothing smaller than a 1/4" line for a full vent, as you go down in line size, the signal is cut down the same amount, causing that delay when you lift from Positive pressure to vacuum, allowing the stalled boost to reach the compressor and attempt to stop it, spin it backwards (the flutter noise you are hearing). If the lighter spring did not fix out issue, I was just going to put the stock DV back on the car, with the BOV. Then you have the DV on the hot side to help avoid the light throttle, low throttle surging, controlled electronically by the ECU, and you will have the Tial BOV on the cold side controlled by vacuum. Either one should fix the surge. The surge with the stiff spring on our car was very very pronounced, and not something that should be ran for long periods of time.
