Kristian wordsmithing what most of us can't seem to do. Couldn't agree more.

Mustang for Mustang guys, not like we're an elite group, but it takes a 'special' kind of person to want a mustang, you have to be able to deal with the attention, the looks, the status, the questions, waves, honks etc. If you simply want a very very well performing car, have the money to spend, and want the 'Pub bragging' (wouldn't call it as such) of a BMW, get the Beemer. If you're someone that wants the Mustang, get it, as you're getting second thoughts i'd push you more towards the Beemer, but it's your money, your life and your call RG :).

For me it wasn't about what the car does 0 to 60, it wasn't about how fast it goes around corners and how good the inside is, I got it because I've always wanted one and it has a V8 and sounds fantastic with alittle help from the aftermarket world, but saying all this it's a toy to me, I won't be driving it every day and if I was going to I doubt I would have brought it so maybe that's where the difference for you lies.

One thing Gibbo missed off his veritable sense driven post, is the fact that the Mustang is a GT car, used for a totally different pursuit. Yeah, there's people who mod them to death for that fast 1/4 mile, but it's not a 'hot hatch' killer, on an open road, sure, on a cold, damp country road, no.

Now there's no doubt that the M4 as with most M cars, (well not the fugly M1), is a fantastic, quality product. However, put it in the scenario of pulling up to a hotel/garage/services/shops, anywhere where you might just pull up to in an M4 and people might look at and think, lovely car, then carry on with their business. Put a Mustang in that same scenario and people will look at it and stare, start a conversation, come over and tell you that's a cracking car, it's called presence, something that a M4 will never have!

UK roads in wet and cold weather a Mustang with all the money thrown at it would still get it's backside handed to it by even a Golf R32, Audi RS3 because traction is everything over horsepower.
But ability can trump them both car-for-car ;)

More accurately, the biggest handicap is weight. So just take the seats/interior out and that's sorted :p

Put most cars in this situation and they wont, I don't see people going over and talking to Lambo owners about their cars, they get head turns, and looks, people don't even pull their phones out for it. I canhonestly say there's very few cars i've pulled my phone out to take pictures of (Listed below)
GT350 in US and a Shelby Super Snake
Bugatti @ Hotel Bijan Los Angeles
Gold Chrome SLR in Dubai
Mustang I test drove (Different story)
Rolls Royce Fleet in Dubai
599 in Dubai
Gallardo in Dubai (Custom wrap was the only reason).
And a Audi R8 because it had a Reg plate that I wanted :frusty:

Did I pull a single person over to talk to them about their car, no?
I've seen hundereds of Aventadors, 458s, M4s, a fair few Mclarens... I doubt i'd pull anyone over and talk to them about them, the only car i've spoken to someone about was the DB11 Auction, they'd bought it to Birmingham on tuesday, and I was speaking to a guy about it (Who btw, was clueless, claiming it did 0-60 in 5 seconds, lol behave, 2.8 seconds!)

Anyway, long and short, Mustang has presence, appeal, and admiration on the roads, it's iconic. No matter what Audi (unless R8) or BMW (unless I8) they all look the same more or less (Speaking for the performance, higher spec saloons, not including 1 series which looks like a wonky box, or the A1)

A Ultima GTR is a great car for people taking photos a long with getting people chatting to you at the petrol station, but back on subject, a Mustang is a car you buy with the heart as it has a soul, whereas a BMW is lifeless and just like every other car

@Eclipsar, wouldn't deniy that, but, i've never seen one, I was talking from personal experience. But i'd deffo stop and talk about it to the owner!
Couldn't agree more, mustang is unique, nothing like it, BMW is generic, see them everywhere from Mid range managers and CEO-wannabes, basically the fakers till they make-its (Okay i've just insulted a lot of people haha, it's meant in jest!)

I lied in my previous post, i took a lot of pictures of my ex missus with a red Enzo (which was her dads boss's car - also a family friend of theirs). And then she got to drive off to her Ball in it, and I was left with a hard-on (That she thinks was from her haha!)

So was it from her dad's boss or the car. :eyebulge:
Either way you may have a problem. :)

Saw a Enzo (beautiful car) in Bristol a few years ago with a NSX following it, made my day :)

2015 get v8 ucl mag grey & e93 m3 cp
ok a different perspective- I have a 550 and a v8 m3

Go for the mustang if you want some soul, be able to modify it without spending silly amounts of money, don't want to hand BMW your wallet at every service and want to rack some miles up.

Go BMW - if you want the complete package now.... a little better build quality etc.

or have both.....

By your s550 and then buy a well looked after v8 M3. Both together probably cheaper than an M4.
