I am a very experienced CHL holder. I spent 10 years in the Navy with the Marines as a corpsman. I have learned the consequences of hurried, reckless and or hasty decisions to bring deadly force to bear. It is fine to vent and imagine bringing that to bear but the real world seldom reacts the way you want or anticipate. It is my wife, three daughters, and two grandchildren that pop into my head when deciding how to respond to stressful situations.

My plan is to see him, identify him and then press for charges of assault and reckless endangerment. I have already started this process with filing a report and talking with law enforcement. I will then file a small claims case against him for damages to include repair cost and loss of income for the time spent arranging these repairs. These actions will have the most consequences for him and the least for me.

The reason the cops lost the call is because they consider you a nuisance. Where I live they want to fine people who use 911 for non-emergencies. This was a non-emergency as you didn’t lose control and were no longer in danger. Phone another number and lodge a complaint.

Next; What did you do to piss him off? Most people would keep drinking their coffee as they just paid for it. Something happened to change their plan and it was probably you and not bad aim as he didn’t glance your car but hit it dead on. A guy in a performance car threw a shake at the side of my truck as I had to move into the off ramp and since we are speed governed I guess I wasn’t going fast enough. So he pulled into the left lane and couldn’t pass me because the traffic was even worse. We got off the highway and then he nails the side of my truck with the shake. So that was the reason. I told one of my fellow drivers about it and he pointed to the spot where it hit and slowly dribbled down. I told him it was not that one by the cab but that other one ten feet down! :cwl:

One other thing. As a former lobby for gun control rights - if you believe in them it does you no good to continually quip about people with guns in the car in a carry state and road rage - you are just giving the other side an excuse to restrict their use.

I am amazed at your close relationship with the local PD. The stated reason for losing the call was that there were multiple jurisdictions involved and they are not sure who has the recording. They called two adjacent areas with me on the conference call. I have received two follow up calls to update me. They must be doing this because they consider me a nuisance. My follow up calls were to the non-911 lines. You are trolling I am guessing.

I can see how a licensed CHL holder who acts responsibly and does not resort to violence would be great example of the need for more gun control. You should use it. Not sure where you are seeing me continually quipping about guns in cars. Perhaps you are referring to my post about not using guns to solve problems.

Again, since your arguments are not cogent or germane, I assume you are just trolling. Good job.

The gun control quip was not levelled at you but just general as I don’t want to pick a fight quoting one of the couple of posters that mentioned it.

I’m not a “troll” for criticism of you calling 911 over this. That was not an emergency! And I didn’t call 911 when that happened to me...

And - the reason I mention only using 911 for real emergencies is because people with ongoing threats to their lives are being put on hold because someone got their car sprayed with a cup of coffee!

What happened to me did not happen to you. I was stuck my an object thrown at me, not the side of a large vehicle with no chance of causing driver impairment. This occurred at highway speeds in a construction zone in heavy traffic. The driver then proceeded to drive dangerously at high speed in attempt to evade consequence. Not sure what your thinking here is. Did you look at the photos? You do not see how this was a dangerous and criminal act? Seems to meet the threshold for calling to me.

I would submit that he was putting the lives of several people in jeopardy.

You know what. I’ll take the blame off of you and put it on cities and towns that have not actively initiated a common non-emergency number to lodge or file a complaint with police. You come home and the place is burglarized what do you do? Most call 911 even if the place is empty - why - because they can’t remember any other number.

We have 311 but they made it too broad in scope. 911 has to stay for real life threatening emergencies but maybe 999 for police matters that are not on-going emergencies.

The bottom line is that it’s a very real problem that has to be addressed. We don’t even have phone books anymore with the numbers on the second page. What are you going to do? Google it?

But yelling at people isn’t going to solve this. Even I don’t know what number, police division to call if my house was broken into or if some vagrant was passed out asleep on my front lawn. An alternative has to be readily known and available.

Man, I am in the DFW and have a 2018 ecoboost convertible, the weather was so nice yesterday and i was driving home from work with the top down and as soon as the light turned green some construction worker dicks in a truck tried to spit at me in the car. I don't know what gets into people.

Even more alarming that you aren't trolling. You are comparing a shake thrown at the outside of a truck vs hitting a person with a cup full of coffee in a convertible. Apples to oranges.
