I've been changing my clutch today and I'm stuck trying to get the transmission to go back in. The alignment tool slides in but I can only get the transmission to within a 1/4 inch of going in. My arms are so sore from pulling, pushing, lifting and giving it the finger. Any suggestions on getting this thing to go back in?
Are you installing a twin disc? If so, you need to make sure that your alignment tool is passing through both discs. Also, did you bench bleed your Throw out bearing? You may just be fighting the spring or fluid pressure of the hydraulic bearing. Make sure that the metal dust plate is lined up on the dowels.

Wen you say 1/4", do you mean that it goes all the way except for the last 1/4", or you can only get it to go in the initial 1/4"?

Usually taken apart.
SheepDog, thanks for the advice. I ended up recentering the disc, but really pushing in on that plastic alignment tool to make sure it didn't move this time. It slid together first time this way.
I appreciate the response.
