When I took delivery of my car last December, I found the hood vent had paint damage inside some of the louvers. It took some time, but today I finally picked up the replacement. It was warrantied thankfully, as it costs $2,000! It comes unpainted, so it then needs to be sprayed. The guy who painted this one did really good job, I must say. I have been worried all this time that the replacement was going to look like crap, but it came out great. Only one spot that I will need to hit with some rubbing compound to fix a tiny blemish.
In this picture I have circled the chipped paint down in some of the louver valleys.
Here is the replacement.
He even painted and buffed the underside, which I can say is one step better than the one from the factory.
The dealer is an hour away so I decided to take the mustang for the ride without the hood vent
