I am all for sucking it up, and turning the other cheek, when circumstances say it is best. However, in this case, I don't see circumstances saying that. I can respect your opinion on not calling a shop out. But again, in this case, you are only benefiting ONE person. The man that called you a "bitch cop" and completely LIED about his intentions and work performed. I think it is fair to say that he fully deserves to be called out by name, so that others may know to stayyyyy awayyyy. I understand that other folks may have already gone to him... but you could possibly help others avoid future scenarios that you went through. Again, I can respect your point of view, I just don't think he has earned that respect by any means. If you don't speak up, who will? Dude will just keep on keeping on, screwing people over. Pardon the pun, considering your profession, but I see no "justice" in that sir

At least a lawsuit to get money back or something. God knows what that mechanic really did or didn't do. I would definitely be glad I am NOT law enforcement if that happened to me. Either way, he should have major problems coming his way, That video would be on Youtube too. It is ok to say what shop did a great job on a car. Same goes for a bad one. I would look at it as helping other people from being robbed by the same person. Again, it can be done in a legal manner. If I were robbed by that same guy after you have been through this, I would be as mad at you as I am at him. No offense, but we should all be looking out for each other.

I understand you concerns. After telling my lieutenant my story today at work, he told me not to get into it with the guy and just move on.This shop is the only shop I could find in the most southern part of San Diego who does Whipple installs. All I can say about that.

However, there is a silver lining to all this. Jeff at Whipple Tune Tech is the man.Jeff emailed me flight control and a new tune.Over the phone, he talked me step by step through the tune install. All I can say is I have a new car.And for some reason even the freaking fans are quieter.Holly shit the power the car has now is incredible.Starts up really smooth like when it was stock. No black smoke pouring out the pipes in the back.My gas mileage went from 9 to 14.5.That cock sucker screwed my tune up bad.

After talking to Jeff, he believes cock sucker either tampered with my tune, or corrupted it by messing with it. The crank learn was money.Im thinking the crank learn was never done.Reason im saying that is, after I down loaded the tune, Jeff told me to start the car.It still started shitty and seemed to struggle starting.Jeff tells me now we are going to the do the crank learn.Bam!!!! Money shot all over her face and back…. Best feeling, hearing that motor start and just purrrrr….

There is no more popping when I let my foot off the gas and just seems to run so much smoother… my hat is off to Whipple.I NOW have a Supercharged 550 and I am the happiest customer they have.I will never have anything bad to say about Whipple again in my life.

Im probably going to make an appointment at JBA in Kearny mesa and have them do a dyno pull to make sure everything to working correctly and nothing was damaged. But, today coming to work, I got on it expecting it to pull like it did when I thought it was running correctly and as I left 3rd getting on the freeway and hitting 4th, I floored it and immediately got out of it and needed to change my tighty whites… holly shit that is fast….

thanks for all the feedback and advise.

You're a cop? Tell me, how can I legally punch your mechanics in the face without getting charged? You have more patience then anyone I know, If i got that kind of comments about me and a 8k+ kit I got installed by him,the result of that story would be transmitted thru the news , but I respect your decision and hopefully you can burn him by driving away customers

I agree. I do not feel being in law enforcement has anything to do with this. My local news station has a segment for this type of stuff and would love to cover something like this. They even would confront him with cameras rolling. Again, we all have rights. Just was not fair how it all went down, and there should be a consequence.

Hijacking this old thread. I have a Whipple kit that's only been on for a couple of hundred miles and I just got the CEL the other day. I haven't even read the code yet so no panic ... my FordPass woke up on it and says "Regulatory: Excessive exhaust temps".

Just wanted to see if there was any previous experience around that here with a Whipple kit and if there's a cause/fix theory :) I'm bound to head out to the install shop anyhow, but before that...

Thanks guys!

<EDIT> After getting the code read at the local AutoZone it turned out to be P0300 Random Misfire, so suspecting the previously discussed plug issue <EDIT>

I just got the check engine light yesterday on my 2018 Mustang GT. Only 3200 Km on it. Planning on taking it into the dealer tomorrow but does anyone have any idea what this could be? Car still drives totally normal and as far as I know the CEL came on during normal driving (still winter here in Canada so no crazy acceleration possible on these roads). Thanks

This is not going to answer your question, but I tried this ODB2 scanner at a friends house and decided to get one. It will easily hook up to your phone so you can read codes as well as clear them. It also had a super nifty software that you can download (think it was an add'tl $10) so you can read stats from your car while driving (connects with phone through wifi).

Does the motor need to be running when you do the crank relearn and after the motor is warmed up to at least 160 degrees?
Yes,u have to reach a specific rpm for the relearn to complete.
