Just got this message on my information display after 3 1/2 months and just shy of 4700mi. I don't drive particularly hard, does this sound right?

I have an oil life of 58% at 870 miles and 3 months. That definitely doesn't sound right.

I had this message pop up less than 1000 miles after my oil and filter change, which clearly isn't right. As I mentioned on the underseal thread, I took my car into the dealer today for underseal photos and they cleared the message. Apparently they've had three cars in now with the same thing ..... it's something to do with a fault in the PCM. Ford are aware there is a problem - but much like the underseal, I guess they'll ignore it or fob people off.

mine popped up after 6 months and 1200 miles, i contacted m dealer and he said it was because the forgot to reset the oil life counter in PDI, because the oil life counter counts from the production line on a yearly timer.

he said to take it in and they would reset the counter for me, in the end i just done it myself save driving to the dealer to have it done when its just in the vehicle settings

Mine was 84% after 1005 miles. Which reminds me, I took a load of pics for a how-to guide. Will have to make a thread for it :)

Well it's going in on Friday to be looked at so will compare my diagnosis with others. I wouldn't be averse to a warranty oil change if it was offered was thinking of DIYing it anyway just to help keep things fresh.

Just been in to Think Ford Guildford to have mine reset.

They've booked it in for oil and filter change under warranty and they've told me to contact their body shop in Farnborough re the under seal.

Oh and they are giving me an eco boost as a courtesy car. Will be quite interested to see how it drives but I'd never consider one as I'm just loving that V8 burble and roar.

It's amazing how some dealerships want to be helpful regarding underseal or warranty oil change.
I've heard bugger all from anyone and if it wasn't for the forum you wouldn't be any the wiser.
My car looks uniformly black underneath so I may have been lucky.

So I took my car in today. Wasn't able to speak to the sales person as he was in a meeting (I wanted to mention other warranty fixes such as underseal). Technician checked the oil grade, assessed it as not requiring a change, but topped up and reset the oil quality reading. The downside of this (other than not getting a free oil change) is that the oil quality clearly won't be 100%

Any of you guys that have had success getting warranty work done, have you done it through your sales person or gone straight to the servicing department?

I spoke to a guy in service dept. I had gone in for reset, as was asked to do on phone, but he had a word with his boss who said get me in for an oil change on the house.

This is also my experience at Think Ford Guildford.

My GT was the first with the early Change Oil Soon warning at 6 months and 7000 miles. After some telephone ping pong I popped in on spec. At my request my oil level on the minimum was topped up and the vehicle was booked in for a free warranty oil change with courtesy car.

After reading the how to thread there is no way I will be doing my own oil changes as it would certainly be a complete disaster.

Mine is at 52% having done 5,200 miles - weirdly accurate!

That includes around 900 miles of very high speed driving in Germany, with another bout scheduled in a couple of weeks. I just hope the Dover ferry delays don't affect Eurotunnel....
