I know you had some QC issues, but the fitment looks dead on in this picture.
In this pic, it was still about 3/16 low in the rear.

I've had my Cervini hood on for nearly a year now. I love it, all except for the extra weight. Yes, it's noticeably heavier than the stock aluminum hood. Cervini has a good hood shock kit that helps a lot. I manage an Auto Body shop so I ordered mine unpainted. I ultimately chose the Cervini hood because it does not require pins and retains the factory washer jets. And let's face it, it looks pretty bad ass!

I'm on the "left coast" and I was a little apprehensive about shipping a large fragile part cross-country. Surprisingly, it arrived on time, was well packaged and was undamaged.

I did however have a few issues with the product.

1. The rough edges were, well, rough. Took a bit to clean up and smooth out.
2. The center louver assembly was irregular, deformed and also pretty rough.
3. The hood shock kit they sent was for an F-150 truck.

I've seen reviews where people say the customer service at Cervini is not great. I'm happy to say, this was not my experience. They responded to my emails and were very helpful over the phone. Within a week I had another louver that was perfect, and the correct hood strut kit.

The fit of the hood itself was about 8.5 out of 10 right out of the box. I had to tweak my hood hinges a bit and adjusted the fenders to make things even. The only modification I had to do was add some shims to raise it in the rear so the lines match at the upper fender horns.

I spent the better part of a week smoothing out the rough edges and priming & blocking the entire hood before it was painted. All that extra prep work really paid off because the paint is absolutely glass. There are no waves in it at all. It looks like it could be a stock hood.

That car looks great. Fitment looks amazing. I sent over photos to cervini to see what they say but in your opinion and you have a body shop, this can be fixed? If they give me a hard time about it, also did you paint the louvers? The ones I received have the flat black finish which they gave me for no additional charge for the first bad hood but these also have blemishes as you can see in the photo.

I never really had to mess around with modifying and edges, other than cleaning them up a bit. I did nothing with the louver but bolt it on.
Anything can be fixed, especially fiberglass. Did you for sure get the 18+ hood or maybe they sent the 15-17 part?

So the hood struts are actually 15-17 which led me to believe the hood was too. The hood sticker does say 18-20. Im waiting to see what they choose to do because this is the second one. The first one they agreed was way off so they sent a new one.

Maybe try asking them if you can mark the areas off with a sharpie that need to be trimmed, mail it back and have them make the necessary adjustments before sending it back.

That would really suck if a 15-17 hood is being passed off as a 2018+. Most customers in that situation would probably tackle the modifications on their own to make it right, but that should never happen to begin with when QC is on point.

Frustrating because I bought the first one almost a month ago, now being on the second one I have to see what happens. Still needing to get a good one to then paint it. Overall the point being is to cool the engine bay, now with the whipple it seems so much hotter all the time. If this falls through I was maybe thinking of the RTR hood vents to maybe at least give some cooling?

I am N/A and will probably stay that way indefinitely. The Cervini GT500 hood does have plenty of room for forced induction and the louver does vent a lot of heat. With the rain tray removed, my CHT's are down by at least 10 degrees.

Hello everyone have a question.
I just received my GT 500 hood from Cervinis and I found this thread cause I had some fitment issues.
I was wondering.
For those who have installed the GT500 hood from Cervinis on there 2015 did you have to use shims on the bottom hood bolt, the one closest to the windshield so it would line up with the body on both sides by the windshield and the fenders by where the hinges are?

I installed mine last month. Same GT-500 hood on my 16’. I did have to install shims on the aft hood bolts. I also shimmed the fenders up. I bought some stainless steel shims off Amazon. I don’t remember what thickness I ended up with.
I had contacted them about fittament as initially I used stainless washers and the fit was wonky. They made some suggestions and I was able to dial it in. The biggest disappointment was that my MMD side radiator covers no longer fit. That was a bummer as I had to wait almost a year for them to arrive. I am still thinking about trying to modify them and see if I can make them work without looking like trash.

Ok cool, thanks for telling me. I thought I was going crazy. My stock hood lines were perfect and then I put the GT500 on and it sank down like about 3/8’s. Found some washers to use for now and it’s pretty good.
also came across some plastic type shims on Amazon. I ordered those instead of steel & I’ll switch those washers out. Thought plastic might be better for the fiberglass. Hoods heavy though. I have the redline struts on and I have to lift the hood all the way up & wait a second to make sure it stays up. My stock hood I could leave it half open and it would stay there.
I’m wondering what I should do with paint for the louvres though. Semi gloss or gloss. Gonna do the paint myself. But I’m leaning more towards semi gloss.

Hopefully you get your radiator cover situation sorted out though.

I bought stainless steel shims, they were more expensive but I didn’t want any rust. Hopefully they aren’t cheap low grade stainless steel.
I asked the Cervini rep about the hood struts. He said that the RedLines would work fine but I ended up getting the Cervini ones anyway. They work well but if I am going to have the hood up for a while or at a car show I plan on using the prop rod too. Don’t want the hood to slam shut in the wind. I had Cervini paint the hood. Top, bottom and the louvers. Mine is Deep impact blue. It was recommended by several of the vendors I called and it was a perfect match. They did louvres in satin black. I could have painted it myself but I couldn’t tie up our paint booth at work for that long. I’m waiting on putting the Over the top stripes on until a friend gets home from vacation. Then I’ll post a picture. By the way, those stripes are expensive. Too bad nobody else makes them.

Got you, I put the pat black stripes with the red outline. Get a lot of compliments when I take her out. As for the shims I bought both the steel and plastic gonna see which is better then send ones u don’t use back to Amazon or I’ll just keep them for any future projects.

Which other companies do you suggest? Looking around it seemed like they were the only ones that had a full size cutout on the underside and a drip tray.

So this hood isnt all fiberglass then? Just the louvers?
Have you looked at the Hertz hood?

I ended up going with the ikon one and just put the gt500 style pins in my core support. I feel this hood looks more like the actual gt500 hood than any other company.
