my center display changes with my mood. havent found one steady one yet. The fuel mileage one detracts from the driving experience, when its up im always trying to better the number on the screen I end up driving 50mph in 6th gear against my own will lol
Exactly. I keep looking and trying to get better, but then I remind myself "you didn't buy this for economy". Of course, when I'm stuck behind someone going below the speed limit. It's way too easy to down shift to 5th and blow their doors off.

Problem Solved. :)

No, no, no...You need to run it to empty all the time. That way nothing has a chance to build up. :p

My 05 GT never got gas until the fuel light was on and got close to zero, never want to give it time to build up junk in the tank. Never had a single fuel issue, except a one time excessive water in the fuel when I filled up, must of got bad fuel.

Yeah, I push my cars to the limit. Mostly because I have a longish commute and don't like going to the gas station all the time.

I go 400-425 miles per tank in my GTI, and usually put in about 14.25 gallons. The tank is apparently 14.5 gallons, but I think the fuel fill neck holds a bit more. I once managed to cram over 15 gallons in. I thought gasoline was an incompressible fluid, but now I'm not so sure. I think I was running on fumes that time, though :headbonk:

And I'd have the center gauge on the fuel economy readout.

I always fill up at a 1/4 of a tank. The fuel is also what supposedly keeps the fuel pump cool and is why I've always been told to not let the tank get down to empty on a regular basis. I've always done this with my fuel injected vehicles and have never had a fuel pump go out.(knock on wood).

OK, what are the four little pointers or triangles on the top left of the screen?
Mine has three lit right now, top, bottom and left, and I didn't see anything in the manual that explains these little indicators. All four are lit in the photos on page two of this subject.

That's your steering wheel directional control indicator.
The ones that are lit show available directions that you can scroll.

That shows which direction you can navigate through each screen using the left steering wheel controls. Notice that it looks exactly the same.

Hi everyone, I have just a question.... is it possible to have more than one gauge in the center display ? I mean can I have oil pressure gauge and inlet air temp gauge at the same time displayed ?

No. It would be cool if we could though.

BTW, there's no oil pressure gauge, just a reading of "normal" or not. Serious bummer.....

Running it so low, doesn't that cause the fuel pump to overheat since the fuel keeps the pump cool ?
