#2 is to have a display of MPH. I have that on my current car in the HUD, but will loose that going to the Stang. :headbonk:
Why is this a big deal, I've seen the complaint before. If you're performance driving you use the tach more than the speed and the speedometer is an inch away.

When the car redlines it's still noticeable that the entire gauge changes to red.
Sorry to hijack but quick question. Where is redline and when does the dash change to red (at or before redline)? Is it 6500 or 7000?
My guess is 7000 with the 6500 the warning section.

I use the fuel meter in the center, but I really need to remove it. I need to stop caring and just fill up when it says I have 40 mi till empty or so. It just seems pointless to worry about it, although it started at 7.8 when I got it and it's up to 14.6. Still on the first tank, and have 90mi till empty.

My gauges are set to Orange atm. But I'll probably switch it up soon.

Center display = Trip/ Avg. MPG meter
Gauges/ MYcolor set to a light orangish color @ the moment.
Pony Projection Lights= Red (thanks to zombie)
*Also swapped out my overhead dome/map lights to a pair of Super-Bright LED's.
Looks 10x's better than stock bulbs.

I wouldn't recommend waiting that long to fill up gas. I never let my tank get below 1/2; you don't want the cruddy garbage at the dregs of your fuel tank running through the system and clogging your fuel injectors.

My car hit 1,200 miles today. Averaging 21.2 mpg.
Center display changes often between trip and air inlet temp/cylinder head temp etc.
Dash color set to green, ambient lighting is purple

No, no, no...You need to run it to empty all the time. That way nothing has a chance to build up. :p

I'm fine with you filling up when ever you like. But to think that the 'dregs' keep themselves hidden in your tank so long as you keep it full is kinda strange. Fuel mixes and the fuel outlet is at the bottom of the tank. Any heavier material will find it's way to the outlet whether you keep your tank full or run it until it's empty.

For all the bits that do get in there, that's why there is a fuel filter on the system. For diesel systems, that's why they have a water separator as well. Those are what keep the dregs from clogging your injectors.

While I don't run the tank until the fuel light comes on very frequently, I never fill until I get below a quarter tank. Mainly because I like to optimize any fuel discount I may have accumulated at a given station. Since I've never once had a clogged fuel filter, let alone an injector, I've not had a reason to believe it necessary to change my filling behavior.

tl;dr; If you get crap in there, it's coming out whether you fill at 3/4 tank, 1/2 tank, 1/4 tank, or E. Make sure to change your fuel filter on a regular schedule.

PS. If my glorious Ford 6.0L diesel clogs all it's fuel injectors now, I'm coming after you. :paddle: :D

It should stay in gauge mode. Mine does.
I think 95cobby is referring to this screen:

I use this screen quite often too, and it reverts back to the previous menu ( the one that shows "Gauge Mode, Trip/Fuel, Track Apps, Settings, etc.") after turning the car off.

When I have a single gauge on, like the A/F gauge below, it stays on that gauge after turning the car off.

I'm not sure the exact redline but it looks like it starts at 6500 and true redline is at 7k. The gauge lights up red at 6500 or very close to.

Yes, that's the gauge mode I'm referring to.

Maybe these brand-new fuel injector systems are different, but when I first started learning about repairing fuel injectors, I was always told to ensure that you never let the tank get below 1/4 because the engine-mounted fuel pumps had lines that ran almost-but-not-quite to the bottom of fuel tanks, and that lead buildup would accumulate at the bottom of the tank and become more and more concentrated the lower the fuel level got, resulting in a lead slurry going through the fuel system that would destroy the injector needles.

Maybe things have changed in the modern era of unleaded gasoline and tank-mounted fuel pumps; I'm not sure, I've never worked on a post-1980 fuel injector system.

That makes sense. I think the issue isn't what it used to be now that we don't have lead in the system and we have lots of additives to deal with keeping things properly mixed, anti-foamed, anti-corroded, anti-gel'd, anti-clogged, and anti-knocking. It's amazing engines ever lasted more than 5 years.

my center display changes with my mood. havent found one steady one yet. The fuel mileage one detracts from the driving experience, when its up im always trying to better the number on the screen I end up driving 50mph in 6th gear against my own will lol
