Was wondering if anyone replaced the crap center 3.5” speaker with good results. Read through the car stereo thread about disconnecting it, which I did, and agree it’s a sonic improvement, but somehow I find I like the image a bit more centered vs coming from the left side. I read some put in coax’s but weren’t happy with the results. I’m happy to replace with a pricey driver.

Have you adjusted the fader and balance controls to move the sound stage? Most people find it sounds best with the fader slightly forward of center and the balance just inside of the passenger seat (on the screen diagram)

I had disconnected the center speaker, and it sounded better. I've since removed the equalizer with Forscan, reconnected the center speaker and moved the sound stage almost all the way to the front, like one or two taps from the front. It's much better, it's actually bearable now. Move the sound stage all the way to the back and see just how lousy those speakers are. My next move is to replace the back speakers and maybe door speakers with aftermarket and then add a sub.

Am I the only one thinks the audio system is pretty damn good for a 2016 MY domestic Pony car? I've built hundreds of systems since 1991, and this one still makes me plenty happy not to change a thing. Nothing wrong with the center channel at all.

In a previous life I was very involved with car audio. Maybe in 1992, but not today. If you’ve built hundreds of systems, to each their own, but the Mustang audio is passable, thats about it.
