I did mine today. Removed the gauge panel, and reached in from under neath and unplugged. Took me 5 minutes. I had the gauges off a while back anyway doing the Shelby gauges..

I tried to take the top piece off but I was worried I was gonna break it. I knew how the other came off so I just went that route...

you just have to pull the silver strip (from the left) up along the top a few clips, it allows the top cover to have enough clearance to pop up.

Does the mid bass speakers make any difference? Maybe I should chop up the doorsand do that with the amp. The doors have JL.
I put the amp for sale on marketplace. It's an overrated amp. I use to buy orion, kenwood, and the top shelf stuff. Got a cheap 100 watt boss amp. The reality is they are about 18 watts per channel which is good for a mid and high speaker compared to the 22 watt rms Kenwood deck. People bash boss but they are an ab amp and a rare bread made in America .
When I competed locally I would have never used one. I had 2 orion hcca reds. Back then amp wattage effected what category the system competed in. My 2 amps were rated a total of 250 watts and pushed out 1,200 watts. Back then lowering omh load was very uncomon. Fosgate was in second place IMO.

Just because an amp is Class AB does not necessarily make it a better or worse quality amplifier. there are many class D amplifiers out there which will deliver a much better listening experience over that Boss AB amp. Boss hasn't had anything amplifier wise made in the USA for at least a couple decades.

The factory center channel is just the left and right signals merged, which is going to distort the sound field.

Essentially, your left and right ears both hear the left audio track, so anything in the media that is strictly left channel loses its stereo depth.

I unplugged mine when moving to aftermarket speakers.

that s probably explains the better overall sound without the center speaker??

Boss hasn't had anything amplifier wise made in the USA for at least a couple decades.

I was wrong it said engineered in the usa. Im not going to brag about boss because it's the bottom of the barrel and peak power is girl math L○L.
When I didn't have bills I bought top of the line stuff. Alpine, old pioneer eqs and decks,punch, and 2 orion red hcca.
The reason I bought the boss was because I went kenwood dvd media player and didn't know the 4 channels would be sufficient to play 6 speakers. It's not a premium. I consulted here to possibly use it for a center channel but people say it's not worth it.

Dont be scared to use almost all your strength on the silver part. The clips r goodntight

yeah not worth it unless you are going to go down a 2 seat rabbit hole of processing and amplifying
