Has anyone lost there center channel? I'm just curious if there is a big sound difference? I bought a small 40 watt 2 channel amp because my kenwood only has 4 channels. I hook up 8 speaker wires and the tweeters worked also. Now I was thinking about adding a 31/2" center channel speaker just so the other amp would quit collecting dust. Has any of you premium guys had yours go out and did it make a difference?

I got rid of my center channel altogether when i removed the factory amp and added 2 JL Audio amps.. I have aftermarket woofers in the doors, mid range in the doors, tweeters on the pillar, and rear seat co axles, and sub in the trunk. No need for the center channel

Your amp set up is unusual and without a DSP pretty much trial an error.

I have DSP active center speaker Ground Zero BMW 4" GZCS tuned for two seat listening and the 4" tunes for 240-13000 hz really helps deliver a 2 seat center stage balance.

Tony thaks for the help. I have jl audio 6s in the old stang and they sound super clear. I had a jl 12" i got in a trade but my amp is maximum power at 1 ohm and the jl was 3.4 ohms. It took a few months and I broke even on the sale. I traded a kicker 15 for it. Thought I got the better deal.
S550hpp I'm a big fan of the dsp because it's a eq and crossover all built in one. The 2015 mustang is kown for having some electrical issues. I found that out buy adding problem and mustang information. Luckily all my problems were in the radio or I would have got a dsp.

I did not lose my center but rather disabled it. Better without question. Wired a switch to turn it on when listening to ballgames as it can be good for that type of listening but for music it dies not make any sense.

Just unhooked mine last week and everything sounds better without that speaker.

I disconnected mine. Music is made in stereo, not surround.

Does the mid bass speakers make any difference? Maybe I should chop up the doorsand do that with the amp. The doors have JL.
I put the amp for sale on marketplace. It's an overrated amp. I use to buy orion, kenwood, and the top shelf stuff. Got a cheap 100 watt boss amp. The reality is they are about 18 watts per channel which is good for a mid and high speaker compared to the 22 watt rms Kenwood deck. People bash boss but they are an ab amp and a rare bread made in America 🇺🇸.
When I competed locally I would have never used one. I had 2 orion hcca reds. Back then amp wattage effected what category the system competed in. My 2 amps were rated a total of 250 watts and pushed out 1,200 watts. Back then lowering omh load was very uncomon. Fosgate was in second place IMO.

Many of us have disabled the center speaker. No regrets here doing it.

Midbass speakers arguably make the most difference. The majority of the music is in the range they are designed to reproduce. Nit sure i understand why you would chop up the dash since great midranges will fit in the stock location but you may know much more than i do. I do want to upgrade the amp just deciding how to go about it.

Does unplugging the center speaker have an effect on phone sound?

There is a minor difference in sound but in no way does it make calls difficult to hear or necessitate turning the volume way up. I actually have my speaker wired to a switch snd never activate the speaker.
