I used to use a suction cup windshield mount with the flex arm, similar to the Macally Rickycardo uses, on my 2012 Mustang. After a few months, the phone holder part of the mount disintegrated after repeated phone insertions and removals.

Then I noticed the phone fit well, between flex-arm of that mount and the soft dashtop of the S197, in landscape position. It's unobtrusive, not fiddly to put your phone in or remove it and holds firmly enough to tolerate most street driving. It helps if your phone has a plastic/silicone case that's not too slippery.

When I got the S550, I repeated the same arrangement; the P-51-style slots on the dashtop were a fit made in heaven!

I also have the schosche. I bought the space gray Metal plate pack also to better match my phone.

I have a completely naked 6 plus with just the medium plate on the back and a 6 plus egrips over the top of it. Holds perfectly. I also found a perfect cable to reach from the cigarette lighter. Also charges as fast as the stock Apple cable.

Here is what Im using.

I just stuck the plate inside my 6S plus silicone case. It holds it in place with no adhesive required

This is perfect! I just got my space gray and didn't want to take my frame case back so this is a perfect solution!
