Cd's, what's that?

Got rid of all my vinyl records in 1987 when cd's came out
Got rid of all my cd's around 2008 when digital become the rage
Got rid of all my mp3's recently and now flac exclusively

Get yourself a good media software tool like J.River media center
and rip those cd's to digital and throw them on a usb stick in the car.

TC
You should have kept your LP's. Some are worth a pretty penny now. They also still sound better than any digital source. That's why they are making such a big comeback.

Look at this and put the files on a usb key/drive then put that into a usb input in the mustang and forget about it.
You'll also be able to put multiple albums on the same drive so you never have to change the CD.

I prefer flac files for lossless but in the mustang I don't mind a 320kbps mp3.
Alternatively you could put those file in your phone (maybe add a sd card) and use bluetooth or a usb connection to the phone.

Personally, I'm using tidal hifi (up to 24bit/96khz) with bluetooth in my car but I also use tidal a lot at home with my audiophile sound system.
How many times can I like this post! I have followed the video and have verified it works and an in the process of doing my entire cd collection to a tiny thumb drive that will hide in the console port forever!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Ok, new question is there a way to change access to the menu while moving. I have to select the music I want while stopped. Is there a setting in forscan that will remedy this nanny setting?

Have you tried using voice commands? There is a good reason manufacturers lock out some functions while the car is moving. It called keeping you alive. That fraction of a second while you're changing the music could be your last. A good friend lost a daughter because of this. It can happen to anyone.

At 60 years old I've probably changed over a million CDs, cassettes, 8 tracks while driving down the road without an incident. I don't need or want a nanny telling me how to live and drive. I had tried voice command and had been unsuccessful until this evening. At this point I do have the voice command figured out enough to choose an artist, but not a specific song or cd.

Got you beat Roy. I'm 68 and changed a billion cassettes and CD's (Never, ever an 8 Track, yuk!) without incident. You can do that without taking your eyes off the road. Working a Sync 3 menu cannot be done by touch alone. But you can do this..........

Sorry man I'm just not in the habit of taking to vehicle's. I like to have control of things personally that's why I ride a bike and drive fast cars. I'll never settle for being controlled. God never said I needed to be!

Ok, I duplicated my audio drive and put one in the wife's fusion. Hers has sync 3 with the 8 in non sony screen. Her system works flawlessly accessing music by voice commands it also allows screen use for selections when options are available. Yet the 4 in screen system in my GT is almost unbearable when trying to access music thru voice command and allows no screen or button input while moving. Getting really frustrated. Someone has to know how to turn the Nanny OFF. please post a workaround.

Your frustration is understood but your workaround is easy. Upgrade to a Sync 3 system. Your current system is archaic and that's that.
Have fun!

Already looked in to that, for the cost I'd go Kenwood with the scosche or metra kit. I'm sure there is a way to do what is needed if only I can find out what line of code needs changed. I've been flashing vehicle's for years as a tech and I've already played with forscan. I only have 4 tuning systems now so somewhere I'll find the code.
