MAPs kits for a 600hp subaru setup are 3000, but include intake, downpipe, up pipe, etc. That is more than fair considering the power and everything that comes with it. If somebody releases a 1500 dollar factory bolt on option, they'll sell tons. The average owner isn't going to want to build their bottom ends for another 3 or 4 years.

I can't imagine a reworked factory turbo costing 2 grand. That's absurd
It is a bit steep, but I can see that being about what the market will bare. The turbo itself is $1051 list price from Ford. Then it has to be modified, shop overhead, development costs, etc...

Not worth it IMO, but for some people I'm sure it will be.

An all-inclusive kit in the $3k range that makes 400-450 to the wheels sounds good to me...

For $3000 I'd rather go with a more well known company and a bigger turbo kit. I see $2000 as a good deal for the turbo and $2500 as the absolute top I'd be willing to pay. That's me personally.

I was under the impression they are reworking the stock turbo from the photos, the srt community was paying about $500ish to have our turbos beffed up with larger compressor wheel and ported housing that we could make up to 350-375 whp with. The photo I believe is of our GT22 turbo ceramic coated.

a bolt on turbo would be a killer around $1500

That's correct Nihil... These are reworked GT22s.
This is the main reason it's not worth 2 grand.

I can see the first to market companies trying to charge a couple grand because some people just don't know any better and would spend that kind of money.

The fact is an exhaust housing is the only thing "special" about this turbo. I see absolutely no reason preventing someone from making an adapter or - even better - making a hybrid setup.

There are companies working on turbo kits that are a direct replacement for the stock unit. ATP has done the same thing with the FoST turbos.

I would pay $1200-300 for a replacement stock location turbo. Not much more. I would pay $500 tops to get mine ported/re-worked. I'm not interested anyways, not going to produce enough power.

I am sending our stock turbo to Comp/Cavalli today so they can send it back as the 55/56. We are doing some testing for them and will be happy to report the out comes. After speaking with them for an hour we have some good expectations with this turbo.
How much are they charging and what kind of power is the reworked turbo supposed to support?

I am waiting for the aftermarket to catch up and sort out all of the issues before I dive back in.
