Is there such a thing as installing a catted (or catless) DP and not throwing a CEL? I have plans to install the Ford tune and would love to go with a DP in the process, but don’t want the engine to throw a code due to installing one. Any input is appreciated!

Hey, brother. At your elevation level unless you install a fairly restrictive cat with your downpipe the turbo will easily overboost without the proper Wastegate control management within a custom tune which will lead to the stock and or FP tune cutting off the fun very fast and give you an overboost CEL.

I ran a catless with an L shape extension without any code for 8k miles without a tune.

I'm running a catted MBRP pipe.
Tune adjusted by tune+
5000 miles, no codes.

All credible DPs will say it requires a CUSTOM tune in order to operate safely. The FP is not a custom tune, so if you keep that tune, you will never be able to have a DP, catted or cattless.

The o2 extender I have has never given me a code with a catless dp
so you are able to run "tune-less" and still have a catless DP installed?

that would be great, bc im waiting for a good while before i get a tune, or at least until SCT comes out with a plug and play tune (I used to work there, which is why i would just go with them, not saying other tuners arent fine)

Same with me, installed a cat-less DP with the 02 extender and the cat-back exhaust all at the same time, before I installed the Cobb AP and did not get a CEL
