Well Mr EPA agent. NO tuning company turns off any emissions equipment. IF you, Mr EPA agent, decide to defeat the emissions equipment on your car Mr EPA agent, you will have to live with the codes and CEL light. It'll run just fine however, get better mileage and quicker acerbation. You can thank FORD for that.I'm hearing a lot of mixed things. Some people running catless with big tuners like Lund/PBD have stated they do not have codes.
It seems like plenty others get to live without the codes and CEL lightWell Mr EPA agent. NO tuning company turns off any emissions equipment. Cause they know how to use google Mr EPA agent. IE: "how to........"It seems like plenty others get to live without the codes and CEL light
No. Tuner. Turns. Off. Emissions. That's the reality today. In the olden days before the EPA crackdown, they just deleted the code, or shut off the rear o2's. They don't do that anymore. This question was for tuned 350s - scurry away
Thank you that makes sense. When looking on google there's a ton of people just saying "oh yea the tune will remove the code" when it seems that's not the reality. Just want to prepare for what I'm about to do.No. Tuner. Turns. Off. Emissions. That's the reality today. Like WH said, no tuning company will defeat any emissions system or turn off the MIL light for emissions related codes. When looking on google there's a ton of people just saying "oh yea the tune will remove the code" when it seems that's not the reality.
See now FORD made it really simple for you. If somebody removes the cats from your Mustang, the stock TUNE really doesn't care, it carry's on business as usual. Think about that.. the stock tune doesn't care. Then the EPA in their infinite wisdom, goes after the tuner for defeating emissions, when in reality, all they did was shut off the code. Big deal. It wasn't the tuners who removed the cats, it was the owner, and again the stock tune, from FORD, doesn't give a shite. In fact it rewards you with better acceleration & better fuel economy. And really with todays aftermarket tunes, it doesn't touch the emissions side of things. It remains EXACTLY the same. Fuel economy doesn't change either. So there it is with todays tunes. Better performance, same fuel economy, does NOT touch emissions. You just get p0420/p0430/CEL.Thank you that makes sense.
