They recently revised the design and removed the hole where the electrical plugs into, so you have to do something extra to secure it. I think they need to tweak the design and make a part just for the 350.
I drilled the same sized hole and it worked well. I was careful to center the hole and it doesn't appear to have weakened the part at all. The electrical harness is secure in the hole.

I noticed there are significant price differences between the Bob's, UPR and the FP and JLT catch cans. Any major concerns on the lower price units?

I would guess that in a year or two you will be able to get all of them for 50% of today's price. R&D of a new product does cost a company, if they can recoup some of that now more power to them.

I like to disassemble things.

It does weaken the cantilevered tab. You've reduced the cross section. You may not see a fracture result but others have, including myself. The decision to eliminate the hole was a good one on FR's behalf.

These cans have been used in other applications for years, except the new FP units. The price point has remained consistent. Don't expect that to change. Like most things, quality is reflective of cost. Do a google search on the Bob's unit....there is a great write up for the 350 on another site. Their quality and effectiveness is unsurpassed.

Agree with the quality of the Bob's unit, but could I get near eefectiveness with the JLT or FP units even though they cost 1/2 as much?

I would argue the new JLTs, what they call version 3, are as good as the Bobs, and I like the fact that the bottom of the cans simply unscrew so I can bring the cans to dump in my waste oil drain pan and not have to use a valve to drain them while on the car into some container, then transfer again to my storage pan. With the coupon code above and free shipping, significantly cheaper than Bobs.

I saw that... I do like the ease of wasting the catch oil. I'm thinking that'll be the way I go, just considering all factors first.

Of Course. Bob's are the "Gold Standard" so to speak... but so is the Porsche GT3, and here we are in GT350s :)

Overriding factors for me is how the catch cans function and which is more efficient in catching oil. Bob's to me is best. Both sides have a true catch can which have material and internal baffling to catch atomized oil or vapor. UPR driver's side does not (check valve only) and FP have no baffling whatsoever plus no drains. To each his own but for me the choice was clear.

The JTL 3.0 units do look nice. I noticed however on their site the Driver Side is on back order. I sent an email to inquire about when they will be available again.

I don't think they're baffled tho.

Don't the Track Attack cars use Bob's and not FP? If so, that's telling.
