Anyone adding a catch can to their Mach1? Needed or not? I have had them on my other Fords, just want to get some feedback. Thanks

I added the ford racing unit on the passenger side. It’s only been on for a couple hundred miles so I haven’t checked it yet. Necessary? No, but it can’t hurt. Gave me an excuse to spend some time in the garage and under the hood which is never a bad thing :)

Do you have the link handy for the can?

Went with the Ford Performance air oil separator for the passenger side. They catch quite a bit per oil change. Piece of mind for me.

Exactly my thinking, it was just shipped to me. One of very few mods I'll do on it.

The Ford version looks nicer (OEM look) but seems to be a bit harder than the JLT to empty…have to remove a number of screws and then suction fluid out, vs unscrewing the bottom and emptying.

I had the JLT on my 2013 GT with blower…was suprised on the amount of oil in the can.

I have a JLT catch can off of my 2016 I have been debating putting on my mach 1. I originally wasn't going to as I read comments about the dual fuel delivery system rendering it unnecessary. This thread has me reconsidering...easy mod. I am at 6300 miles so maybe a little overdue. JLT says the can will fit the mach 1. Edit: not sure if this will fit my Mach 1. I see the 2018-2021 and Bullitt had a different SKU from JLT.

How do you like your mach 1 after 6300 miles? Any issues?

No issues...love the car. I had a 2016 GT...this one is much better.
My only complaint was a nitpicky one on here the other day...wish you could hold the left paddle and drop to the lowest possible gear like the Camaro application of the 10 speed. Not sure why Ford omitted that feature. I think it would have been a nice feature to have on the TOTD drive a did a while back.

A must in my opinion.

Put on an oil catch can (oil separator) immediately. You really only need to do the passenger side in this car. I put mine on about 700 miles in, yep it catches blow by, certainly enough to justify it. You have multiple finish and brand choices, and install takes all of 5 minutes with your bare hands, so why the hell not?

I installed this very early on, the bracket attaches to the cam cover bolt, its a difficult bolt to get off, you need to give it a good pull to get it to release. Be sure to use a torque wrench when tightening it back to spec.

So the JLT or the Ford Racing the best catch can ? Both are about the same in price but looks very different.

They both do the same thing with the JLT probably being a bit easier to empty. Ford one looks more OEM.

Catch can's aren't required but are never a bad idea to help with longevity of the engine. If you add boost down the road they will help even more as well.
