Has anyone else noticed the sound quality of audio from CarPlay versus Bluetooth streaming? When I don’t connect my phone for CarPlay audio sounds so much better, the B&O in my car actually way better when I’m listening to music via Bluetooth.

They sound exactly the same to me. CarPlay should theoretically be superior, but in practice the difference may be too small to be noticeable amid all the engine and road noises, not to mention the plethora of trim rattles. I'd love to say it sounds better, but the truth is, I couldn't tell the difference if I were blindfolded and had to guess which one I was listening to.
Sound quality aside, I find CarPlay better for music simply because it doesn't seem to be affected by that nasty Sync 3 bug that randomly jumps half a second here and there.

Bluetooth should provide a worse audio quality. Are you using the same app for both connected and BLuetooth? Check any app settings that might have anything to do with audio bit rates or quality.

I am using one of those CarPlay singles for wireless CarPlay but it sounds the same in my palisade wether it’s Bluetooth or wireless carplay. I’m my mustang it’s another story.

Does the Hyundai have factory wireless carplay? If so, then its probably the adapter you are using doing something to the audio.

My experience for what its worth :

I haven't messed with Bluetooth music.

My wireless car play adaptor gives me better sound than using music from the USB (admittedly some of my USB music is transferred from CD's).

Difficult to compare to a car with a different sound system, but my wireless car play adaptor appears to have similar / equivalent sound quality to the OE wireless system in my other half's Kia.

My wireless car play adaptor gives a way more reliable / consistent connection than the OE system in my other half's Kia (like zero glitches (ever) compared to one or two per 30 min journey in the Kia).

Bluetooth with iPhone is alway a lossy connection while CarPlay transfers the signal without losses. So with wired connection a lossless cd rip will have cd quality while Bluetooth will never be as good due to compression.
