Exactly. So not sure what to do from here. Either live with it or put stock back on. MPR says theirs doesn’t have a gap but someone I know tried there’s and had same gap. It’s just to thick with no flex like stock. I don’t want to pay $4k for oem dash lol
the carbon looks excellent and love the bezels over the vents and gauges. I just wish there wasn’t such a large gap. It’s been a frustrating few months trying about 4 dashes and it’s either bad quality carbon or poor fitment. Can’t win.
Hi there,

So I picked up Mustang Carbons dash kit in red CF. I have a gap issue but on the lower left just under the IP. It doesn’t sit flush and sticks out like 1/4”. Does that portion fit flush on your? Did you get a replacement and did it work out better than the original?

So he won’t make a new one. I think the issue is that the clear coat s stiff vs the aluminum so it doesn’t flex. If I snap it in from the left side first, it fits flush but pulls away when I snap it in towards the passenger side. I can either send it back for a refund but no re do, or live with it with a 10% discount. Thing is I also have the matching door handle and window switch pieces. Joys of aftermarket!

Does anyone know who makes speaker trim ring overlays in CF for a 2002 Mach 1? I ordered the set from carbonaddons but the ring is too small by about an inch. Not sure if there is a difference in standard vs B&O or what, but I am trying to delete as much chrome as possible from the interior.

On a side note the cupholder insert/overlay fits wonderfully.

There’s zero difference in sizes of any speakers from 2015-2023 with the subwoofer being the only exception. They sent you the wrong rings. Make sure you order the proper ones for 6.5” or 3.5”

Interesting. I was wondering. Now that i measure, my chrome rings in the door are about 6” OD. The rings they sent are 5 1/4”.

Getting any info from the carbonaddons people is like pulling teeth. After some back and forth on my issue, they replied to me via an email from someone else (with a Camaro), and we started the back and forth again, which ended with them again asking for pics of the problem.

Hopefully i can get that speaker trim ring covered without taking the door apart and painting it. The only other option that i see is a hydrocarbon product. I may try that if i have to since it is low and out of sight and dark down there.

They say their entire stock of rings are all 5 1/4” and other customers have installed without issue. Jesus. I told him the base 6 speaker stereo, the stereo with extra door speakers, and the premium sound all have 6.5 inch speakers.

Take a picture of the ring next to your speaker and then call him a liar.

Already did that yesterday. He thinks the Mach 1 has different speakers or different trim ring sizes than the base stereos

I’ll have to remember not to buy anything from those guys. Sounds like they’re a few fries short of a happy meal
