I remember when I first got my car (2021 GT), on WOT takeoffs the advancetrak light would light up leaving the light and would again come up on the shift from 1 to 2 gear. Now with 21k miles, I can't get the car to do that anymore. At about 11k miles I installed a M-9603-M8B (calibration w/cold air intake and throttle body). I recently reflashed the performance tune from the calibration tool. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the upgrade, but you'd think if anything I would get more wheel spin then before. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Maybe crazy thought but if the perceived power loss came after the reflash maybe somehow it didn’t take and you reverted to original stock tune?

Stuff like this is maddening but always look for the variable.

Thanks for your reply.

Yeah, that's an interesting thought. But I'm positive that I installed the performance tune. The calibration tool's display screen clearly showed the performance tune, and I am sure that it took, but I don't think there's a direct correlation between the time the reflash was done and when I started noticing the car not activating the advancetrak during hard acceleration. I've thought about taking it to steeda and have them put in on a dyno to see where my numbers are. They also sell a dyno tune, but I'm not sure what that would buy me. They quoted me $1k for the tune, and if I'm not going to get any more power from it, not sure it's worth the grand.

Anything else done to the car in that timeframe? New tires, any suspension/IRS mods, etc? As stated above, start with all the variables and start eliminating things.

Just got a new set of Pirelli PZeros installed on Thursday. Went for my usual weekend drive yesterday and I was surprised that I didn't get the rear tires spinning on take off. I'm sure if I really try I can burn 'em. But the "problem" has been there for a few months now. Before then I had the rough idle issue (no stalling), but it seems like it has gone away on its own. Hasn't happened in a month or so. I'm going on a drive in a bit so I will report my results after I "really" try to get the advancetrak to engage on take off.

Well, same thing yesterday, although I was able to make the rear tires chirp on the shift from 1st to 2nd gear on one of my take offs. I think ultimately I'll have to get the car dyno'd to see where it is in terms of power.

Maybe the tune itself it set to keep the lights from flashing? Can you actually feel a difference or is it just because the light doesn’t flicker off/on anymore? Just a thought.

New tires, once scrubbed will give more traction, i.e. less spin than same compound old tires with lots of heat cycles and time to harden.

The tune doesn't actually keep the lights from flashing. I can see them flashing when I take off from a stand still full throttle. It's just the second gear that doesn't make the lights flash anymore unless I'm turning. I can't really feel that much of a difference, but according to the M-9603-M8B specs, I should be getting +42 lb-ft of torque at 2,000 rpm and +19 hp at 6,500 rpm. https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-9603-M8B
