Hello all,
I need some advice.

I moved back to Japan for work and took delivery of a 2015 Ecoboost a few months back. I bought it used and it came with some sort of "coating" that the previous owner had done.

I speak Japanese so I called the place that did the work and they said the coating should be worn off by now. I'm still not really clear what was used though... Sounded like some sort of synthetic wax. The guy kinda gave me the runaround.

Anyways, I want to make sure I get off all of whatever coating they used. I have a DA orbital and usually use Wolfgang stuff. What should I do to remove the old coating? Clay first? Polish with scratch remover?

Any advice would be great!

Most likely a polymer based synthetic coating, which will be removed even with the mildest cutting paste. just wash it with dawn soap and polish away!

I agree - a good wash with Dawn should melt away the simpler coatings. If it was a nano coating on the otherhand...
