Can't fit 275s?

Firestone service advisor says he doesn't feel comfortable putting 275s on my 2016 GT base model. It has Premium wheels that I added but look at the drop. I didn't notice it when I bought it 2 years ago and now I feel stupid.

I think he cut the springs. Anyone have advise? Am I stuck with 255s until I get coilovers?

looks like 1.5" drop or more. Get in there and look and replace those springs.
it would also help if you took pictures perpendicular to the car and at fender height.

How does one afford a Mustang GT but can't afford $250 springs??


Ok ok, end rant.
You might be able to find some OEM springs for cheap (or even free) in the marketplace until you get coilovers.

But how did the first owner put 20/35/305? Everything is bigger but the radial which I am asking for 40 or at least 35. OEM is preferred even though it is counterintuitive for track use.

The last guy must've been a ricer.

I just see black springs and after looking at many suspension options, I don't see any shiny black on the market. I hate springs. Much prefer coils because the struts are designed for that while OEM is not designed to be lowered.

But that's a different rant.

The OEM springs are black. Can you see a part number sticker on them at all? Regardless, if someone is selling OEM springs for cheap, that could hold you over till you're ready for coilovers.

OEM can absolutely be lowered. Plenty of manufacturers use a divorced spring/shock setup. Nothing wrong with it.
Now if you're referring to only changing springs and not the shock, that I would agree with. You would need new shocks as well as new springs

I'll admit that I am not well versed in parts, but I agree with what you said. I have a very good friend who's a Honda tech and he taught me what I could only try to learn when I had a 2012 Civic Si.

Unfortunately for me, no. I seriously think he cut it. A shop must have because it is precise. He also painted the brakes red. Faux Brembos lmao.

they are 19x9 and 19x9.5. I also wonder if you've got the fronts on the front and the rears on the rear.
Firestone does my rotations and alignment. He said he understands what OEM is, but he doesn't feel comfortable mounting 275s. He said next time he'll give it a try.

Generally they give me excellent service and advise. I should have pushed back because I asked for OEM, not his recommendation.

Whatever stock premium wheels are. I think 19x9.5
What you have look like the optional forged PP1 wheels, which would be 9" front, 9.5" rear. 275 isn't crazy on a 9", but it is a bit wide. 275 is perfect for a 9.5" rear tho.

What anyone failed to mention is on PP1 wheels, 275/40/19's are stock on the rear 9.5's
The front 19x9's get 255/40/19's

Any reputable tire shop should have that info and know what size tires came on those wheels. If this tire guy doesn't know that, then you need to find someone else. I wouldn't trust that guy to put air in my bicycle tires.
