A custom tune is definitely the way to go. They evolve where a canned tune pretty much stays the same from the time it's made. One tune for everyone.

The custom tune is continually updated with new features as time goes on. You also don't need a dyno tune.

To piggyback off this, an e-mail tune isn't necessarily a canned tune. Sure it starts off generic but once loaded onto your car you provide datalogs while actually driving the car and the tuner makes the necessary revisions. As Jered mentioned a dyno isn't necessary.

Exactly. The only time a dyno would be recommended is if you're putting on a very different setup then anyone has ever run or an aftermarket power adder, cams or if you're switching to a different fuel such as E85.

The exhausts on previous models since it was a u.s sold car were much less restrictive and yes a pony or two, this exhaust is extremely restrictive now that it's globally sold to keep it very quiet therefore it adds a decent amount of power throughout the whole power band. The resonator cuts down to 2 inch piping and the mufflers are completely restrictive. There was a test on a brand new 2015 mustang gt swapping out exhaust to magnaflow competition exhaust and it got peak gains of 10 rear wheel no tune at all.

Interesting, that's the first thing I've seen showing any meaningful gains....

Most folks on the forum see little to no difference, YMMV.

I would rather log my car on the street while tuning rather than a dyno any day of the week.
Street tuning definitely helps with a lot of drivability stuff. However we do recommend the dyno for WOT runs as we don't want our customers doing 150mph pulls on their local highways to get a datalog. That's just unsafe and why a dyno works very well for WOT tuning.

Exactly how I feel. Plus with how loud our exhausts can be even just going 80mph sounds like 200.

WOT data logs are generally done in 3rd gear but I'm sure they aren't as accurate as a 5th gear WOT pull on a dyno. Longer pull to read af ratio
No need to do a pull in 5th. You won't get any more/different results.
