you're the worst kind of car "enthusiast". I hope you get door dings every time you park from here on out, and some illegal with no license or insurance totals your car while its parked
Worst? I suppose you prefer those who hyper mile in their Prius. if you know what I mean not that there is anything wrong with that.

Well I'll apologize for laughing every day when i see the suxuki xl-7 with the rear drums painted red. I really do need to have more respect for this kind of shit.

I think most of us agree with that too, but that's not remotely close to what we're talking about.... We're talking about painting CALIPERS on MUSTANGS.

Wow this thread has escalated quickly lmao. I get what GTLAW is saying with every ricer or wannabe sports car painting their calipers (painted drums make me lmao too). My question is so what tho? Does that mean that the GT350 is rice for having painted calipers? What about the CTS-V, corvette, porsche, lambo etc? Just because every ricer adds an exhaust to make their car louder are 80% of the people on here ricers for adding an exhaust? What about tint? Seems like every rice/donked out car up here is tinted. Is that now lame too? Bottom line painted looks much better than primer gray/steel calipers.

Back in the 60's Mopar used to paint the brake drums red from the factory when you ordered certain optional wheels that showed the drum. Not quite sure why anyone would care.

Factory painted calipers are for corrosion prevention. You can't leave aluminum bare. With the PP calipers they chose anodized which looks awesome. Cast iron is perfectly fine left uncoated otherwise it would be done at the factory.
Rice is a fine line to walk. The guy powder coated his so they look OK opposed to those crummy globbed on home jobs. I have to wonder why would you want to make that little single postion slider in the rear stand out? It's mostly for the sake of doing it because you can but its not well thought out as its entirely for aesthetic but it ends up being poor aesthetic even if done well.

You car has to have an exhaust. Changing it out is questionable with out power gains but really its not applicable to the argument.

Tint I wouldn't pollute my window glass with that shit. It doesn't look bad but I prefer to have the best visibility possible

So I'll be having my calipers powder coated. I'm thinking either black, silver, or a dark gold. I'll be running graphite 6GR wheels. What's everyone's opinion on color for my calipers?

Any coating applied to the brake caliper by the factory is for aesthetics only. With the popularity of large open wheels a rusty cast iron caliper looks really bad so they zinc plate them to keep them looking good longer, like the rear calipers on the Mustang. Aluminum doesn't corrode like iron does so unless the brakes are an upgraded brake option from an after market supplier aluminum calipers are typically not coated from the factory, case in point is the standard aluminum front calipers on the GT or Ecoboost with PP.

From a pure function standpoint any paint or powder coat acts as insulation and prevents the Caliper from disipating heat heat as well as if it was left bare.

All I hear from you is " my way is the only way and everything else is completely stupid" Pollute your glass with window tint? do you live in a fucking cave? I would turn into a crispy piece of bacon if I didn't have tint where I live, in fact its very rare for a car not to be tinted at dealerships prior to sale here.
