I really think one of the biggest issues with most CAI's is the very large tube they run right up to the turbo small inlet opening then neck down very quickly. Air (fluid) does not like to flow quickly thru abrupt dia. changes. Any fluid will flow quicker thru a straight pipe then a funnel with an outlet of the same size as the tube. This is why I feel the factory tube with a gradual dia change works so well. Plus most CAI's don't really suck in the cold air.

Why are you doing that any specific reason?
As stated above by Adam, stock airbox with drop in filter makes more power than an aftermarket in take.

And to answer your question I prefer AEM DryFlow filters. I have 2 in stock ready to ship, just drop me an email - [email protected]

FWIW, I tuned my car first then picked up a K&N drop in filter. I did not feel an increase or decrease in power by my butt Dyno.

I got a deal on a JLT intake and swapped it on. Again I did not feel and increase or decrease in power by my butt Dyno.

Conclusion: there is not enough change either way to be able to feel it.

I have left the JLT in the car for the visual impact.

Personally I would gladly sacrifice a few horses for better filtration.
