My local tire shop doesn't carry Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02 tires in 325/30R19 size. They will be bringing in one tire from one a local warehouse and one from another in another province. My only concern is that the tires could be from different lots or have vastly different manufacturing dates. Or were these tires sitting around as they are singles. Is that even something to be concerned about when buying tires?

As long as one lot of tires isn't really old should be fine.

I wouldn’t sweat it. The ECS02’s were just released last year. Given it’s still winter (even though it doesn’t feel like it here in Chicago) most tire places in the northern part of North America aren’t carrying a bunch of summer tire stock yet. Will be a different story in another month

Yeah. This makes sense. So at most they could be a year old.

Good point. He has nothing to worry about then.

Yeah at most. And I’d be surprised if that was the case. It’s a popular tire so I’d guess they’re maybe leftovers from the late fall or early winter.

I've bought fronts and rears from different places many times and there was never a huge gap in manufacturing dates.

We pull tires from different distributors all the time to complete sets, as long as DOT is not over 1-2 years you are fine. We have yet to run into a case where tires are fare from each other on production dates
