Hi everyone I'm looking to buy a used 2015 mustang 5.0 6 speed mt. I think it's a good deal owner told me $17,500 has few mods catback, oil catch can and some staggered hre 19" rims. My only concern is that it has 89000 miles that's alot for a 2015. Owner claims it's all mostly highway miles. I want to know what you guys think is this a good deal. What's the durability of the coyote engine like. I've read alot of posts everyone seems to say it's a bulletproof engine. I sold my drift car so I will every once in a while take this drifting I want to know how will it handle drifting? Is there oil starvation issues while drifting like the LS does. Any advice info appreciated

My only experience with 2015 was a GT with brembo brakes and 50th. I found the brake pedal was way too sensitive and the ride stiff. My 17GTPP brakes are by far easier to modulate with out going through the windshield. As for mileage it's up to you but remember it's not only that the engine will last but all other parts of the car, moving or not have the same wear and tear on them. If you buy one with lower mileage at least you should get some driving mileage on it before having to replace brakes, shocks, ball joints, switches, etc. It's been my experience vehicles with around 180000 km {you convert to miles} is the start of failure for a lot of parts. Especially if winter driven. Good Luck.

Ehh. Unless it’s in like mint condition on the body 89k on a car from 2015 like you said is rather undesirable. Every private seller will also tell you it was all “highway miles.”

No one’s gonna jump on that quick. My advice: continue to shop around for a lower mileage one around just above that price. If no luck, come back to him and offer 17 flat. He’ll eat it.

That’s just me though. As far as coyotes being durable, they usually are. Just depends on if you keep up with basic maintenance. So if you can determine that this guy did then it’s still a pretty decent deal I suppose.

Depending on your area that’s not a bad price. If it’s been taken care of, the mileage isn’t a big deal.

The big question is how are you paying? Cash deal, probably not a bad buy and I would shoot for $16.5k and work up from there if the car checks out.

I wouldn’t suggest financing an almost 5 year old vehicle with 89k, as you’ll be subject to a higher interest rate due to age and its going to depreciate pretty quick from here on out so you’ll be upside down for a while unless you put a nice chunk of cash down.

Edit - just re read your post. If you’re looking for a drift car, 11-14 GT will be a much financially smarter option. Solid axle which doesn’t require as much prep work as the IRS would to throw it around like that. The IRS would need some stiffening and bracing to be a safe option for drifting. I wouldn't personally drift an S550 due to the fact the oldest one is around 5 years old at this point, parts prices haven’t come down and again, it’s just not a good platform for that IMO.

Not terrible but I'd probably pass. It's the end of the year, so if you have some spending flexibility I'd suggest visiting some dealers.

Congrats on to becoming a “new” Mustang owner...

hit up www.cargurus.com and do a search for used 2015-2017’s in your area if you like that body style, you may be able to get a newer model year for the same $$$$.
