Should be no issues with the MPSS in the rain in CA, it will handle the same (or better in weather mode) as any other 500hp+ RWD car, just dont good the throttle and slow down in really heavy rain because the steam rollers are easier to hydroplane.

Its already used if its at carmax so i cant see why they wouldnt let you test drive it

I never understood why someone would ask strangers what they should do about a 46-66k purchase.

That aside, you must want a GT350 or else why post this question on a GT350 forum?

I'd drive both and then decide whether the extra 20k is worth it for the GT350.

I wouldn't even consider the l1e for looks alone. You must think it's nice, so get the l1e and save yourself money...but of course also lose more when you sell it.

GT350's at Carmax! Not around here :lol:Seriously though myself having a Grand Sport Vette I contemplated a 2SS but just sitting in a GT350 and hearing one drive down the road I had to have it over the Camaro... Plus as stated they're really hard to see out of! I had a '15 GT 50th as well so I know I'll love the 350 even more . Try to drive both but I bet after getting into the GT350 you won't step foot in the Chevy dealer again  At the least I'm sure there's someone in your area that would love to put a grin on your face!

If you're the kind of guy that will second-guess yourself every time you see a faster Camaro, buy the 1LE. GM launched the 6th gen after Ford, to good reviews. Ford is moving up their refresh. There will be faster cars, and nobody even knows how collectible the GT350 will be with the rumors of FPC or whatever coming out. Who knows?

Save some money. If you're asking for justification for the extra $20K - the performance numbers don't support it, even if the collectibility might.

And it's not mustangs in the rain that's a problem. It's mustang drivers.

Well after many months I finally found what I want at MSRP helps that I am relocating to the south from california. Problem Is I have a 1le on order but i can cancel it before TPW.

why buy a car for 20k extra? if I can get the same performance with the 1le for 43k? I haven't driven the shelby so explain?

Will I not want to daily drive the shelby ? because of its rarity?vs the 1le is more under the radar... Pros and cons

I know the shelby is more at 60k but values haven't dropped in 3 years
Drive the 1LE before you buy to see if you really like it. If you are happy with the 1LE, I think you are better off buying it. Why spend more money than necessary? In a few years you will easily be able to find a used GT350 to drive and then you can decide if you want to upgrade or not.

The 2017 is better than the 5th gen practically GT-R times
Have you driven one? If so, it seems like you like it. Again I say - go out and buy it.

The less depreciation is important to me I understand the high Reving engine and thunder exhaust I totally know why it's special just wanted opinions
My opinion is the flat plane crank Voodoo engine made the car a must have for me. It's a great daily driver and even better on the track.

Weather mode on the GT350 is awesome. I use it all the time, mostly to be able to accelerate faster in low traction conditions. The other great thing about Ford engines in general and the Voodoo in particular is it doesn't have a ton of torque at 2,000 - 3,000 RPM. This makes the car a lot easier to drive in snow, ice, rain, etc. Keep the revs down and go easy on the throttle and you will not have a problem.

If I were a Camaro guy I might be looking at the ZL-1 as well. Depends on what you want. If you really want naturally aspirated and you're a road course guy, maybe you stick with 1LE. But if you want something more special, it might be better to wait for the next Z/28. Maybe GM will do a better job this time and make something that is quick but also good as a daily driver.

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

― Samuel Adams, after Benedict Arnold expressed interest in buying a Camaro

ok guys I found one on carmax, and i am having it shipped closer for 149. to be able to test drive it, Im not interested in a 2016 so don't want this one but the salesman was equally happy that I am bringing it over to this location and he can't wait to hear it! we are gonna go on the HIGHWAY .. this happens next week.

I do like the look of the 1le, its classic not shelby of course but decently close

I do track the car ,

Zl1 is an option as a pure beast for sure , I always go back to the shelby though it makes my heart pump , I did sit in one and rev it a bit at the dealer .

Drive any car with the LT1 and see what you think in terms of feel.

I drove a C7 Corvette at the Ron Fellows Driving School, and while the car overall was amazing, I did not love the feel of the engine at the track. It was great down low, with abundant torque, but it fell flat up high and the throttle mapping during rev-matched downshifts was too slow for my liking. I really needed to use the automated rev-matching as a crutch.

The GT350 on the other hand is weaker down low, with a noticable torque jump @ 3500 RPM. Above that however the engine pulls strongly and just keeps going. It sounds way better than the GM engine as well, IMO. More musical. The throttle blips are much more responsive for me as well, and the engine feels more lively in hard driving.

I think the 1LE is probably the better value in the short term, while the GT350 might hold its value better in the long term (although the 1LE is typically extremely rare, so it may hold its value quite well also).

I personally love the styling of the GT350, so that emotional aspect is a huge selling point for me. The Camaro is growing on my, but it doesn't have the classic beauty that the GT350 does IMO.

Good luck with your choice. Both cars a pretty amazing so you should be very happy either way.

I just sold my c7 z51, and I loved it on the track took it a few times and was able to not mind the low torque response it takes sometime to really get used to it but I was taking most people in my group. I like the sound on the vette but int the regular camaro it sounds more muted.

I am very excited to test drive the gt350 next week hell i even paid 150 to have it shipped and test drive and carmax!

I agree the shelby is an emotionally looking car
