Anybody got a pic of their shim stack for a correctly set up bumpsteer kit?

If lowered, most cars seem to be dropped only about 1", which is what I am. I'd like to set everything up as close to ideal as possible before going for an alignment.

FYI I'm using a Steeda bumpsteer kit and Steeda progressives.

Edit: A measurement from the knuckle to rod end center would be ideal.

Approx 3/8 inch. Please validate and adjust the dimensions at the alignment shop.

I think the thickest of the included shims was about 3/8", which I believe is how I have it loosely installed right now. Thanks for the reply!

I'll try and take a pic of mine when I get home. I had everything in my sig installed @steeda.ca last month.

Also @steeda tech. Chime in and let me know what you think of how it looks if you can. Thanks!

You'll have to go to a real performance alignment shop to get a bumpsteer adjustment done. I've been to the best one apparently in Atlanta area, and they didn't do it despite my asking. I have to do it myself and frankly I don't know if it's right or not, haha.

Thanks yeah there's a race shop that has set up several GT350s and GTs, they primarily do Porsche/BMW but know enough about the S550s now that I trust them.

I'm not really looking for them to measure the bumpsteer and adjust for it, just want to be sure when it's on the rack the tie rods are as close to level as possible. If I had a 4 post lift I'd have done that by now.

Pics. The 3rd pic is an illusion due to the camera angle trying to get a good pic of the Bumpsteer stack. 4th pic is how level to the ground the rod is actually is.

Look how purdy all those steeda goodies look lol. Car has zero Bumpsteer/tramlinig set up like this. No matter how crowned or potholed the road is.

Thanks for the pics! You’re using a lot more of the shims than I expected, definitely more than 3/8”. How much is your car lowered in the front? Do you have a hub center to fender measurement?

I have the Steeda progressives but tbh they dropped the front more than expected, around 1.25”.

Beautiful pic! See how the tie rod parallels the lateral link, looks spot on! That’s the objective!

Yes, but I believe he has the Steeda roll center correcting lateral links with the extended ball joints (as do I) which means if the tie rod is now level, and also parallels the (modified) lateral link which is at a slightly different angle than stock, then to parallel the stock lateral link by using fewer shims would result in a tie rod angle that’s still less than ideal, reducing but not eliminating bumpsteer.

I'm lowered on the Ford Street handling springs (M-5300-X) which lowers 1" all around.

Approx 14 3/4" from hub center to fender on the front.

And yes I'm using steedas tension / lateral links. (Lateral Links have the extended ball stud & tension links have stock height stud)

I can’t thank you enough for your prompt and thorough responses. Like I said before my Steeda Progressives lowered more than expected, but my ride height is much different, I’m at 13.75” hub center to fender (349 mm). Steeda has previously given me the expected measurements for their progressive spring set and it was 14” front and 14.5” rear as measured on one of their cars. I’m not sure why there would be so much difference in our measurements, I think that 14 3/4 height you got is close to OE.

For now I’m going to match the lateral link angle and hope for the best, I’ll have the tech check it again during the alignment. Thanks again!
