How are you liking the shifter and which one of the MGW did you get?
I got the Race Spec Standard with the adapter to run the stock shift knob and then push into reverse. I am enjoining the shifter a lot, the first week was challenging because its a whole different shifter feel there is no play in this one. 1-2 at high rpm is butter! then the 2-3 is so rewarding. Now driving in traffic or slow you will probably go into the wrong gear and thats to be expected because again the firmness of the shifter...for example I was coming to a stop and I thought I was in 1st nope I was in 3rd lol, so you'll have to retrain your brain. I don't have any experiences with aftermarket shifters this is my first. My other cars didn't need it.

Interesting and thank you for sharing. My biggest gripe with the MT82 in the Bullitt is from 2-3, it just doesn't feel very "tight". I haven't missed a shift yet but I'm also not slamming gears. I think I will give the MGW a try, just based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Would be my first aftermarket shifter, as well. Still have some Steeda parts and other stuff to install, just hard to find time ever.

Shifters are a nice upgrade. I donā€™t think you can go wrong with Barton, MGW or Steeda. Iā€˜m gonna guess that they all perform about the same. I have the Steeda Tri-ax race shifter in my Bullitt with their supplied stiff (race springs) in it. Shifts are stiff, but hopefully once I start taking the car to the drag strip, they will help slow down the shifts just enough (but not too much LOL), to let the synchros do their thing properly and save wear and tear on the tranny.

Finally installed the Steeda clutch spring, upper chrome trim rings on the door speakers, and stow and show front license plate bracket. I love the difference. Much more predictable and linear, no more of the over assisted and numb feeling. Definitely heavier at full extension, but not too much and worth it. I installed the Ford rear side Louvers, and am adjusting to the look.

Also pulled the trigger on the progressive sport springs. Will have a local shop do the install and alignment.

Ordered the BG trans gear oil kit and will change when I do the next oil change which will likely be AMSOIL and the Ford Racing filter, and when I renewed the registration ordered custom plates.

I guess it's a keeper šŸ˜

Nice touch on the upper speaker trim rings. I didnā€™t know that those were even available to us. Howā€™s the fit on the louvers? Is there any chance of unwanted critters being able to build a nest behind them, or are they blocked off to prevent something like that?

The louvers fit completely tight against the glass and the back side has a false grill that nothing could get through, though I imagine a small insect could get in there. Due to the chrome trim on the rear windows I did have to use an extra layer of gorilla tape for the bottom of the louver to connect with the glass. The Ford kit comes with window blackout film but I didn't use that, I just spray painted the backside of the louvers black and it looks fine.

I found the upper speaker trim on eBay was pretty cheap. It comes with double-sided tape but it doesn't reach the ring on the speaker surround so I had to put an extra layer of double-sided tape to make them stick. I only did it to match the lower speakers that have the Chrome trim. The same outfit also sells them for the a pillar tweeters but I didn't get those just the door.

Steeda Sport Springs. Installed with fresh alignment. Excellent ride, much improved on center feel and response, and great look.

I'm a little miffed, had to take the car back after the springs and alignment. Something is not right. The car lunges to the right on hard acceleration, and at high speeds the rear weaves and wags like it is pulling a poorly weighted trailer......

My Bullitt is still on factory springs, but I wonder if this is your issue? FWIW, I do think lowered cars look better than the factory ride height, but Iā€™ve been reluctant to lower mine with the LTHs in place. They cost way too much to risk turning them into skit plates.

No problem lowering the car but also need to install Camber adjustment plates.
I have Steeda springs and plates and no issues BUT was installed by Mustang specialist.

I am only doing minor cosmetic changes but keeping all OEM parts.
- Wheel Center Caps are going all black, no Mustang
- Rear Bullitt Logo being removed to make the car completely badge less like the original
- Hood struts since this car deserves better
- JLT Oil Catch Can
- Stow and Go front plate bracket
- Rear Taillights replaced with the Euro ones. (Not sure how I feel about this on the Bullitt. On the white GT/CS it was nice)
Should be cool! I did the hood struts, so much better than that prop rod. Ugh. Steeda Trunk struts are AWESOME too! Still had my JLT catch can from my GT, so I threw that onā€¦ I wished I would have kept my Euro T-lights. before tradingā€¦ It all happened way too fast. Enjoy!
