On the leaked ordering guide is shows the V6 having a wheel and side stripe option. There was a shot on the site of a mule with the side stripe, it runs just above the rocker panels and says Mustang in the stripe. I'll have to look for the pic.

You are more than likely correct, but I'm sure they have people that check in on a regular basis as you mentioned. Or it could have been a "planned" leak to beta test the build and price. Nothing like free Mustang fanatics to find the bugs. They should throw us a bone then. ;)

While that is a possibility, I don't think that is was on purpose. There was not a clickable link to that configurator. I had to manipulate the web address for the 2014. Now, I am definitely not a computer guru, but does Ford really think that the average Joe would do something like that? Who knows. At any rate, it was cool while it lasted, and the real deal is only a few hours away.
My statement wasn't contradictory, per se, you just didn't understand where I was coming from. Building up hype in the sense that it will get people pumped and excited for whatever they are going to release on Tuesday, or get people's attention somehow. The site didn't really reveal anything drastically new, just the same things most people were aware of, but with pictures and graphics that makes it look like something totally new. Besides, this is clearly on a web server that is not intended for normal consumer traffic. It appears to be a QA (Quality Assurance) server intended for testing. Just so happens that some clever folks found it.
Bottom line is, if the site was exposed intentionally to build hype, I think they did themselves a disservice based on the fact that there was clearly lots of incomplete information and missing or inaccurate photos.
