All of the above are good ways to get them off...for the future I highly recommend a sealer and not just a wax for protection. I've personally used a product called Klasse and bugs come off w/o any hassle.

If they are love bugs, remove them NOW. They will destroy the paint if left on to long.
I was going to ask if they were Love Bugs. It's that season in Florida. (If you don't know what I am talking about, google pictures of Love Bugs. Awesome.)

My wife taught me about these menaces. You have to get them off immediately or they turn to something like epoxy.

I keep a good coat of wax on the front. As soon as I get home from a drive or trip, I immediately get the detail spray out and a micro fiber. Like the others have said, the worst thing to do is to let them sit on there.

I will have to try that dryer sheet trick though....

Mr. Clean magic erasers work awesome! Don't get too crazy with them, though, because they will take paint off if you scrub in one spot too long. Just get your car and the eraser wet and you're good to go.

I wouldn't use a melamine foam sponge on a car finish. That stuff is crazy abrasive and best left for kitchen/bathroom cleaning. Even if you only use it lightly, you're still introducing a ton of tiny unnecessary scratches in the area.

I spray Windex on the mirrors, windshield, and front bumper before I start to wash and let it sit for a few minutes. It really softens the bugs guts and they wipe off with normal washing. I have tried other glass cleaners but they don't work as well as Windex.

Hydrogen peroxide. Spray on let sit for a couple of minutes and wipe of. You can dilute it in half if you want. Works great. You can get it from walmart.

I got some of the Turtle Wax stuff......

Hydrogen Peroxide??????? That should be really easy on the paint.... will try that next if the TW doesn't work.

There is a product from the makers of SeaFoam called BugsBeGone--works great and isn't very expensive. Use it before you start washing the car and spray the buggy area and wait 10 seconds and use your soapy bug sponge to wash off the bugs and rinse--works great on windshields and paint. We sell the product at work and the rep told me they sell a lot in Florida--BTW you don't read about those LoveBugs in the Tourist ads for Florida, I was there once and the damn things covered the front of our rental car--they don't bite but I'd hate to ride a motorcycle in those swarms

Pledge! I use Orange Pledge on my Goldwing, never use water ever! Used it o the front bumper with 100 miles on the Mustang. Yes it was orange Pledge. Makes it smell great. You guys with yellow cars can use Lemon Pledge. Warning! It attracts bees.

There are some things here, I would never have even thought of. Good info. Personally, I think the best way to avoid a bug problem is just to stay on top of things. I try to keep wax on my car and wash it every week or two, year round. For the bugs that get on in-between washes, I use Meguiars Quick Detail Spray. They come off easy with that as long as you have not let them dry on for over a day or two.

If they were love bugs and on the car for hours then I would suggest treating them like small scratches or swirl marks.

Makes me glad I don't live in Florida any longer. Those things are a serious business.
