Broken flex plate

Anyone else had a flex plate go bad on an s550 and know why?

What is broken, cracking bolt holes or across the plate, where ring gear attaches . Has the torgue converter been changed ? Car is as it came from Ford ?

Flexplate = auto trans
Flywheel = manual trans

I've heard of flexplate outer rings with teeth cracking or getting damaged - but that's on older Mustangs, haven't heard of any such thing with an S550.

Any pics of damage that you're asking about?

Improper torque, of crank or converter fasteners can cause the flex plate to crack .

Missing dowl pins if Trans or engine replaced

First I will have heard of it. Only seen it once before personally on a 1979 Civic.
