Brembo Check (the app)

Saw this app on Brembo’s site and decided to scan my Bullitt upgrade kit when it came in. Received the kit today and said cool let’s scan them.

Whelp they come up as fake. Is this because they are made for Ford/FOMOCO?

Anyone scan theirs? I got them from Steeda so highly doubtful they are fake.

Are fake brembos such a problem that they had to make an app to check them? Feels like the app is the fake here…

The grammar on the app reads like a phishing email...or should I say "readed"?

I looked around brembo’s websites and there was no mention of an app to check for counterfeits. However, it did mention snapping a photo of the QR code from the side panel on unopened / sealed boxes of pads or rotors. No mention of calipers. So maybe it is strictly for pads and rotors if it is indeed real.

I checked earlier and there does seem to be a legit Brembo app: Brembo App on Brembo website

Good find, I couldn’t find it myself. Maybe someone needs to contact brembo as per the apps instruction and see what they say. Maybe oem stuff doesn’t apply.

Recieved on damaged rotor - have to sort that out and should get the pads Monday. Hopefully I’ll have the new master cylinder soon too. (I decided to swap, I know there is debate but I’m ocd). Fingers crossed I’ll dive in next weekend.

I'd say so and wasting time & $ being that way.

Are these a part number or serial number, try checking that.

Well, who TF makes a fake Brembo then goes through the effort to put a QR code on it that Brembo registers as fake? If that were the case, wouldn't they just leave it off? (Point being I think the app is probably incorrect.)
