I don't know how many more times I'm going to say it.
I autocrossed my '16 car at 200 miles. HARD. Did something like 15 runs that one day. 20,000 miles, hundreds of autocross runs, and several track days later I burn minimal oil, no weird valvetrain noises, and an engine that's happy as a clam.
I would try to avoid idling. IMO it's the worst thing you can do for a new engine. So i may have done it incorrectly.....i have 214 miles on the car now but its snowing. I always let it idle and warm up before driving. What do you guys recommend going forward to properly break it in? I have never gone higher than 6500rpm a few times.....and then a z06 tried racing me but i shift at 6500. After i finish driving i let it idle for 5 min.
i plan on taking it in (or may do it myself) at 500 miles for an oil change then 1,000. I have the drivers and passenger jlt 3.o Catch cans
Change your oil, stop doing it and enjoy your car.So now what since it has 200 miles and put away for winter
